Superior Shine polishes a big blue Honda with faded gel coat..... what???

We were contacted by a local Honda dealership recently. I was excited because I love polishing Honda paint.
The manager explained what they needed polished was not paint but was a fiberglass coated aluminum. HUH??

We arranged an appointment to meet. This is what I was presented with - (please excuse my low quality phone pics)

We did a test spot and determined that the characteristics of the panels were very similar to a fiberglass RV so we went with Meguiars RV compound.

We had to negotiate around some lights and a metal band to get to the curved surface.

We did a test spot, submitted a bid and were awarded the job!! I promptly ordered a boom and scissor lift for the event. I also invited my buddies Mario "Detailing by M" and Tommy "Oneway Detailing" to help.

The day of the project we started nice an early at 5am to beat the heat.

We manned the equipment and took our machines and products up with us and got to work.

My other buddy Alex as helped and got started on the right side of the tube.

Here you can see the color coming back. We brought it from rough flat chalky baby blue to a smooth darker satin sheen.

Here you can see a big difference in the improvement from the area I am compounding to the area just under the buffer that has yet to be touched.

This is what a completed panel looks like. Compounded, polished and waxed!

You haven't lived until you have polished around this things!! These are placed there so birds do not land there and poop on the cars below.

Looking good, Jose, at least those bird spikes weren't sharp like some I've seen.
