    2001 Chevy Venture

This is a 2001 Chevy Venture. It has been driven and neglected by probably 10 different people over the last 13 years that we have owned it. It’s gone through smokers, children, slobs, and has even been used as a parts transport workhorse in dire situations. It has never had floor mats has really only been washed a handful of times and has definitely never had a coat of wax applied. The interior smelled like mold due to the fact the rear windows were left open for about 3 months last spring.

I took this car on so I could practice for upcoming spring and summer, also known as detailing season.
I spent a total of 3 ½ hours on this car. I did a complete Interior detail, and a 1-step on the exterior, as well as rain X on the windows and Klasse AIO on the interior windows.

    Products Used:

    Interior:
    Ridgid 8 HP Wet/Dry Vacuum
    Bissell Little Green ProHeat
    ODOBAN (as an extractor detergent)
    Meguiars APC+ 10:1
    Meguiars Water Based Dressing 1:1
ZEP FAST 505 (for grease stains)
    Klasse AIO (for sealing glass)
    Stoner Invisible Glass

    Exterior:
2 Bucket Wash with ONR, grout sponge and Grit Guards
    Griots Garage tire shine
    Rain-X rain repellant
Rain-X Window Scrub (applied by PC with Griots Garage Glass Pads)
Stoner invisible glass with Rain Repellant
    IRON-X
Clay Magic Blue Clay (for windows and Paint)
Optimum No rinse wash and wax
Meguiars D151 (applied by Flex 4301 and LC foamed wool pads)
Meguiars Ultimate Spray Wax (as a final wipedown)

    Before:

    Iron-x

    After the wash

Polished (I couldn’t get many before/after pictures due to the color)

    After 1-Step

    Interior

    Thanks For Looking!

Those carpets are still nasty. I get vans like these to do pretty frequently and the crud and dirt just keeps coming out of the carpets extraction after extraction. A few cans of SEM gray carpet dye would really make a big difference in that one.

This car is just a utility vehicle incase someone has nothing else to drive, its been sitting for 6 months. It has 206000 miles on it, but ill look into the carpet die for a later project.

I extracted until the water was coming back clean.

Great job! Sometimes you get to the point on bad carpets where the dirt is removed but the staining just won't budge.

I think what you see with hose front carpets isn't necesarily staining but the natural color of the carpet fibers because the original dye has been ground off and chemically stripped off by scrubbing with different cleaners etc.

On old high mileage clunkers like that I've simply sprayed down and brushed in light gray spray paint to create a like new look.

It actually works rather well believe it or not.

Yeah, That's Where I believe I was at. I tried my best at it, infact, I spent 45minutes on that section alone. Im blaming it on the nature of my families business. We are constantly walking in grease and oil, and even when you think you're not, the oil is in the air and falls to the ground, so its on your shoes anyway.

Lol, funny you should mention that. My brother got married over the weekend, and is a huge comic nerd. So he asked his brothers and brother-in-laws to wear a super hero shirt under their clothes and i chose to be flash
