Gotcha. I'm guessing you mean mils and not microns. No worries. I'll order them but hold off as a "last resort". I need a new backing plate anyway. Thanks brotha..
1. I'm not familiar with the aggressiveness of the pad, but 12 section passes and 105...wow.
QA.? You stated that all waterspots are still there. What about the swirls and RIDS?
QB. Can you take your fingernail (or toothpick), and from within the perimeter of the waterspot see if you can catch the "edge" to determine how deep the waterspot is ? How long had the vehicle sat?

Yep. Started with 6 passes on speed 5. Then 6 more on speed 6. As far as swirls, there weren't many on the single section I was working.
They have been baked on there for a while now. But for the last 4 years its usually in the garage. They are pretty deep in the cc. I would imagine i could catch a toothpick on the edges of the deeper ones. I'll take pics tomorrow after work. I have a second car so for now the Z is in the garage.
I would say that the results achieved thus far are outstanding. Continue with that method on the rest of the car. It seems to be leaving a nice finish with minimal hazing/micro-marring. Finish up with a finishing polish after the M105 and you should be golden. If you try to go much deeper you may end up with burned spots. Unless you are up close to the panel you probably won't even notice the etchings. Great work so far though. Keep it up and keep us posted.
It s coming up along well mate . It s a learning process .
Thanks, buddy.

Thanks for the vote of confidence!! I'm getting great tips from Mike aka Smack. He's already given me lots of advice and I haven't even met the guy. He is going to come by and teach me better technique and help me get the Z lookin fresh.
Such an awesome community here at AGO!
