    2010 Mustang with Foose Wheels!

This customer is both a friend of and a referral from the owner of THIS MUSTANG. Both 2010's, both gorgeous, both took me about 22 hours to do! When he showed up with the car, I was just blown away by the Foose wheels on it! These wheels absolutely make this car jump out from the crowd. This was going to be a wheels-off detail and not only that, but the car was going to be done with CQuartz Finest as well. I was beside myself with excitement but also a little nervous about handling those expensive wheels. Here is the car as it arrived to me. It didn't look too bad in the sunlight, but my "going before God" CFL's were going to be scrutinizing a lot more critically.

Oh yeah baby...check these lovelies out!!

As you can see, the top had some marks in it.

This was to be the biggest challenge on the car. Paint is the only true fix for it, but I did the best I could on it. I'd say I got it to disappear about 80%, but you can be the judge on that later.

First up as always with me for a convertible, is doing the top. It was rinsed off and then cleaned with ARO cut 50% and agitated with a soft brush and then thoroughly rinsed off afterward.
Next up was doing the wheels and wells. They were getting pulled but I wanted to get them as clean as I could while they were still on the car.
The tires were cleaned with Zep 505.
The wells were cleaned with LATA.
The faces of the wheels were cleaned with a wash mitt and DG 901 after being misted with ZC. The barrels are kinda different on these wheels and I could reach a lot of it with the mitt.

Next up the car was foamed with a strong solution of DG 901 and allowed to dwell while all the crevices were cleaned with a Raceglaze brush. It was then washed with a mitt and DG 901. The vehicle was then rinsed and brought inside wet where I dried the wheels and tires and wells without touching them using the forced air from my Master Blaster. The top was then dried with my powerful PF51 vacuum. The paint was then clayed with a CarPro foam block.

Now the exciting part. I jacked up each corner at a time and removed the wheel. I placed it on an adjustable table I had and then cleaned it again with ONR front and back. I sprayed Tarminator where needed to cut through any tar. The wheel was then dried and wiped down with ERASER. I then proceeded to coat the wheel front and back, with 2 coats. This usually takes me about 4 hours to do. It took a little longer in this case waiting for the CQF to dry. The wheels were torqued to spec with my torque wrench after re-install. Here is a wheel in progress:

Once the wheels were done, I covered each one as I worked on the fender above it. I wasn't going to risk anything with these bad-boys! For the paint correction with this car, it either got one of two processes, depending on severity of scratch. The worse areas (like the fender scuff) got TB black wool + Power Gloss and rotary. If it was not as bad, it got TB wool + Flex 3401 + M100. That stage was followed up with HD polish and a white B/S pad + Rupes. The panels then got Flex + blue B/S + DG Squeaky Clean for surface prep and correction inspection. An ERASER wipe down was down prior to coating with CQF.

CQF was then applied to all the paint, side and rear glass and lights front and back. Each panel was IR cured. The windshield got Fly-By-30 and the trim DLux. I wanted this car to be perfect. I really wanted the owner to be blown away as his friend was with his Roush Mustang. They told me it was like a different car. I was very pleased to hear that! Here are the after shots:

Thanks for looking. Comments are always appreciated!

Amazing work Richy. You are right about the Foose wheels. They really make the car.

Great looking mustang. I'm not a big fan of chromed out rims, but those do look nice. Also, not many people can say they own Foose wheels.

    Great job!

Pat, thank you Sir. When he pulled up with it, he said "every time my wife drives it, guys yell out-Hey, Nice Wheels-; I said to him, Well, it's more politically correct, then Nice Rack!"...talk about an ice-breaker, we were LOL'ing!!

Thank you Mark. That's true for sure! Especially in Canada, you don't see them.
