2010 Black Camaro SS by MD

    2010 Black Camaro SS

Clean car already, customer didn't want interior done as it really just needed a wipe down. Car taken to local hand car wash regularly.

    Tools:
    PC with 3.5 backing plate
GG with 5 inch backing plate
    Foam Gun
    Grit Guards
    GG MF Wash Mitts
    Leaf Blower
Uber 4 inch and 5.5 inch MF pads
LC CCS 4 inch and 5.5 white, red and blue
    Various brushes
    Sears Drill
    Adams focus pads

    Products:
    Mothers Car Wash
    Megs All Wheel and Tire
    Megs APC+
    Megs ASD
Speedy Prep Towel with Megs LT
    Megs D300 and 105
    Optimum Polish
    Optimum Finishing polish
    Wet Glaze 2.0
    Megs UPW
    Adams In and Out
    Adams Spray Sealant
    Megs Endurance Tire Gel
    DG All Metal Polish

    Towels:
    Adams MF towels
    Uber MF towels

    Process
Wheels and tires cleaned with Megs AWT, wells with APC+ various brushes, spot buffed scuffs with drill and Megs 105/205
Engine rinsed, Megs APC+, dried with leaf blower
Camaro Rinsed, washed with foam cannon, 1 bucket with grit guard and GG MF mitts
    Dried with leaf blower
Speedy prep and Megs LT for the above surface contamination
D300 and 105 mix on MF pad for correcting, Optimum polish on white CCS, Optimum Finishing polish on red CCS, Wets Glaze on red CCS, Megs UPW on blue CCS
Engine dressed with Adams In and Out
Wheels sealed with Adams spray sealant
Tires dressed with Megs Endurance Gel
    Wells dressed with Megs ASD
Exhaust tips cleaned and polished with DG AMP

    Impressions:
Paint was rock hard, swirls were not too hard to remove but RIDS were a PIA and many were in tight areas or edged ares that I worked with the 4 inch pads but too many edges and what not so didn't want to push it. Was using PC on 6 with 4 inch pad and RIDS were still there. Tried M105 straight and Optimum Compound with only a small dent. Customer was very happy, I just wish I could have gotten some of these RIDS out in these areas. Because of the body lines and tight areas I found it difficult, I needed a tiny DA with a 1.5 inch pad..........lol

    As it arrived

    After wash and Speedy Prep

Notice the curb scuff on the wheel, I was able to polish it out with the drill, Adams Focus pad and Megs 105/205

Same pics with the lights on

    50/50's

    Drivers fender completed

All finished at local Cars and Coffee

You had that Camaro looking great.

When you got rid of that wheel scuff, was it deep at all? Was the rim the coated, or painted type?
I'm asking because I have some similar scuffs on my wheels but I haven't to touch them because I thought it would make them worse.

On another note if you're serious about a small polisher and have a decent compressor, they make 1.5-2 inch pneumatic orbitals and rotary for like $60

I figured that was exactly what happened. Mine was born in '09 too. Great job on the detail. One question, were you able to get the bumpers to correct without getting too aggressive? I haven't had the best luck getting my painted plastics perfect...
