I am curious how do you charge on a detail like this-do you tell the client it is going to be an hourly charge or do you quote a price for the entire job estimating it will take you 3 days of hard work?

Also interested to hear, PM me if you don't feel comfortable. On a job like that I'd tell them a high ball park hour's figure but charge an hourly rate based on how long it takes me, and always try to charge them less than the estimate. I'm a rookie on the business end of it though. I do full corrections for peanuts for friends mostly, enough $ for new pads/ compound, and then let them take me out on there tab. I really should try to focus more of my attention on marketing corrections though.
It surprise me how the owner can take the car home with over spray like that. I would've brought in a couple of bamboos and go bamboolitics on that shop. No way any shop can return a car in that messed up shape. Great job on your end though.
Great job! I have seen that kind of damage that you couldnt clay off from lime dripping from the concrete in parking garages mostly underground, if it sits(owner on vacation or something) it can cause some pretty bad staining/etching.
