Paint Correction on a 94 Integra Hood. (Practicing)

Finally got that free Rotary Buffer from a friend of mine. And FINALLY got around to get away from society to practice it on my neighbors single stage paint Integra hood. Wasn't anything special but I just wanted to play around and see if I could do it? I went on it like a kid in a candy store. Had all the tools lined up on the ground like a doctor looking at his line up of tools for surgery! I was going just for the hood since the rest of the car has clear coat failure. Hood and Fenders were the only thing I could work on so I decided on the hood.

First, I washed the hood with Meg's Gold Class. Clayed it with Meg's mild clay (took 2 trys until It was good). Washed it again. As for the compound all I had to work with was Meg's U.Compound and Meg's U.Polish.

And the final picture after it was said and done. Just a couple pics. I wasn't going all out of the pics because it was just my phone. Hard enough getting good pics with it as it is.

The first couple of pics with the swirls were taken after the wash. But, trust me it was just dirt on top of swirls.

There were still RIDS after it was all done but I know if I kept going it would have went down to the primer. So, I left it at that. I spot check with the Meg's UP before I went with the compound and saw it was just laughing back at me. Went with the compound all the way. Took a total of two sets to get it that way. The first lap was me practicing with my new Rotary. And that sucker has a pull like a kid trying to walk a 300lb dog! But, after it was all done...I was very happy with myself. Felt very satisfying.

As always and comments or opinions are very welcome!

Sweet great job. So the paint job has both CC & SS paint?
The hood looks great. Did you finish with the RB or switch to a DA?

Keep with 5.5" pads and Kesey them flat and you will tame that 300lb dog!

Thanks! I don't have a DA yet. A friend gave me the RB. I figured I keep practicing with the RB and by X-Mas my loving wife will get me a DA! That way I'll be better lol.

Yeah, I have to get me some good pads and much lower backing plate. The one it came with it 7".

Sorry, I'm still new to the lingo. CC & SS? Single Stage?

CC- Clear coat... SS is single stage. I have a 94 acura and it has clear coat on it.
