Well heck...he won't have a dog in the fight if you sway mgmnt into your methology...unless he sabotages his results. Either way, tax season is here, inventory will probly be moving soon.

    Blow him out the water.

    Re: Swirled out Solstice

So I pulled the car in this evening and spent about an hour all together on it..

Started by washing it with dawn... it was overall pretty clean but I could feel all the little bumps on the hood and decklid.. So I clayed it:

The above was just from the rear decklid!

Up close of the various panels, after claying:

Decklid (it's honestly the worst panel on the whole car)

    Bumper/hood

Hood actually looks decent compared to the rest! lol

The headlights could use some attention too... That's one of the next steps on my list, and will deserve a separate thread, frankly.. Their horrid!!

    Re: Swirled out Solstice

Is the decklid fiberglass or abs?

Which AIO do you have in mind?

Hit the headlights with compound on your GG6. World of difference and save some time.

    Looking forward to completion.

    Re: Swirled out Solstice

So now I just need to get in there in the AM and get it knocked out! Assuming my test spot agrees with me and the Meg's ultimate polish alone isn't enough to correct, my game plan is:

LC Hydrotech cutting pads (5.5 and 4 inch) and Megs UC

LC Hydrotech polishing pads (5.5 and 4 inch) and Megs UP

LC 6.5 flat blue pads (6.5 inch and red foam hand pad) with Collinite 845

    DAS it, eh?

    Hydro formed aluminum, I think...

I had contemplated just using Meg's cleaner wax, but I have the UC/UP combo and I'm confident in it, as noted above..

You're right. I mistook 1 step for AIO. Sounds like a winning plan.

    That car is gonna bling.

You are correct, the plan is to convince the boys that a 1 step AOI would be efficient for their purposes. To that end I have considered stopping at the end of the UC process and seeing what everyone thinks before even proceeding to the UP step.. But that's all advanced lessons at this point, we still have to establish the basics (where swirls come from, how to fix them and avoid them) and agree on them.

Never know though, I will start with the UP on the test spot (center of the decklid, I'm thinking) and go from there.. It may be enough on its own, but I think not. We will see.

I also took a look in the detailers cabinet, I saw a ton of 3M stuff, a huge bottle of Megs Show car Glaze and an old dusty box of Megs NXT 2.0... And a big ol orbital!!
