09 black Acura Tsx with CG Black Wax

Figured it was time to finally put some work into my girl's daily driver. We bought the car over the summer and it looked good till the dealers detail wore off.

The car was covered with swirls, and was in much need of a decontamination.

Since it was late and really cold outside i did all the work inside.

    Products used:
    ONR wash
    Wolfgangs uber wheel cleaner
    megs hyper dressing
    nanoskin autoscrub (fine grade)
    mothers clay
    nanoskin shock lube
    flex 3401
    - 5" hybrid power pads
gg 3" polisher (for delicate areas)
    - 3" hydrotech pads
    optimum compound II
    optimum polish II
    CG blacklight
    CG black wax

Here's the car before the wash.

Started off by presoaking the car with ONR sprayed on in a QD mixture

Then followed with a ONR wash. Then used the nanoskin autoscrub with the flex3401 to decontaminate the larger panels and mothers clay to clean the tighter spots.

Here's the paint up close. Full of swirls.

    On to the paint correction.

    - Using the flex and a 5" hybrid power orange pad and optimum compound II i removed nearly all the defects (good enough for a dd)
    - followed that up with optimum polish II on a white pad

Here's the paint corrected. Much better now.

After removing the defects. I tried out CG blacklight, and i was actually surprised at how it made the metal flake in the paint pop. It smells really good too! I put it on with the flex and a black hybrid power pad.

To protect the finish i used CG black wax. It also smells really good, and is super easy to put on and take off.

Here are some pictures of it all finished up!

It took about 10 hours to do. Well worth the work, it looks much better now.

How do you like CG Blackwax compared to some other waxes you may have used? I am on the fence about it as I already have Souveran and BFWD paste. Not sure if CG's would be any better on my black vehicle.

Nice work. That TSX has some depth to it now made even deeper with the BL and BLW. Now you need some V7 to wipe it down.

BL and V7 is one potent combo. Dont be hesitant with this combo. You wont regret it!

a question just wondering why you used the nano skin and also mothers clay? isnt nano skin supposed to replace claying?

I recently picked up souveran and fuzion, but haven't used them on black yet.

I've got some v7, i love the stuff. I'm planning on using it in between washes.

I used the nanoskin on pretty much everything except the lower portion of the front bumper and grill area. I absolutely love it, works so much quicker, better and it doesn't wear my hand/wrist out. I have a 6" pad so it can be difficult to fit in some places.

I've got a nanoskin wash mitt on the way, so hopefully i can ditch the clay all together.

    looks great.

ive got to try some of the compound II. ive got the hyper compound, but not just enough bite for some of the stuff im tackling.

im totally into the OPT product line and think it is really amazing, but im wavering between the Compound II and Menz FG 400 for the next purchase.

you (and the OPT guys) make a good argument for the compund II. I just hate ht ebottle that my Polish II came in. its too soft. mine looks like an oil bottle...

I love the optimum line up, and the compound II works really well. It has good cutting ability, super long working time and almost no dusting. But i do agree about the bottles, i don't like the bottle that their 32oz comes in, i'd much rather have a bottle with a normal lid instead of a little red cap. The 8oz size bottles are much better.

I haven't used any of the menzerna line yet, but i plan on trying some out soon.
