Big Bad Hemi, old school 426 with a Superior Shine!!

Recently we picked up a new client, Mosher Muscle cars in Monrovia. They specialize in restoring (and recreating) early to mid 60s Chrysler Hemi cars.

This place has been here forever and is one of the coolest shops I have ever been in!

The first beast they threw at us was a 1965 that had not seen any lov'n! The paint was scratched, swirled and had awful buffer trails.

After we diagnosed exactly what we were dealing with we got to work with polishing the paint.

There wasn't much room for us and our equipment but we managed. It was difficult to get a nice photograph of the entire car.

After countless hours of Luv'n, the paint was absolutely flawless.

A short time after the 65 Mosher called us out to polished a badly faded and water spotted 63 Plymouth.

We found the paint dull and chalky. Here I am rubbing the paint with my finger. You can see how bad it is.

This time we polished in the parking area in front of Moshers shop. Weather was nice, boom box was booming and polisher were spinning.

Part of my job is know what I am working with and how best to restore and care for it. This car had been painted years ago with a single stage enamel. There is only one way to shine it... wool pad and rubbing compound.

Here you can see the dead paint on my wool pad.

After the rotary and wool pad the polishers came out. We polished and waxed with foam pads.

See the before and after difference in these two photos below.

When the machine polisher were finally quite and the dust settled, she was looking like a proud girl again.

This project proves the rotary is anything but obsolete. You can have my rotary when you pry it out of my cold dead hands!!

Great work Joe. That shop looked really tight to work in.

I've been to that shop, it's right down the road form Muscle Machines where Richard Lin and I made a video on polishing out the Panic Parrot.

Steve Metz took my family to Mosher's shop and I think some of the same cars in your pictures were there and that was at least 6-7 years ago!

    They needed help back then...

Nice work as always Joe, don't you just love working on single stage paint?

In my book, single stage paint is real paint...

This place is directly across the street. The Muscle Machine guy is no longer there.

You and Richard Lin have a cool video. The one with the Cuban was never to be.

Looks like your having too much fun around all thos old Mopars. Just wondering, do your guys prefer one DA over another. In one picture they are using Meg's, the next a PC. Any reason for switching? Or, do use use them interchangeably?

Great job on great cars! Oh, by the way, what kind of brushes did you use? Ha
