Re: Who said Corvette clear was rock hard???
Corvette clear, especially the black, can be very hard. That said, clear can vary from car to car for a number of reasons. Also, from the picture you posted, it doesn't look like that vehicle had any really deep swirling or marring, so you didn't have to remove as much clearcoat as if you had a really rough looking car.

I was bad. The clear was really hard and a PITA to do. I just upped my section pass from 5 to 9 and slowed my hand speed down to a creep. i must of handed out 35-40 biz. cards. folks were impressed after the menz 1500. One customer came back to see the finished product. booked him on the spot 2 Mercades-Benz.

Ah, I was under the impression from your title that you didn't encounter hard clear. Regardless, good work.

I really dont get it with manufacturers today. If you are going to put a rock hard clear and top notch paint, you might want to justify it in price. I dont get how a 40,000 dollar vehicles could get cheap paint. Im not saying a corvette in this particular idea, but just vehicles in general

What do you consider "cheap" paint? Are you talking how they are putting less paint (thickness) on vehicles to save money, or are you referring to something else?
