Summer Olympics....going for the Gold (Scion)

So yesterday was my buddy Hectour's wife's birthday and I decided to do a full exterior detail on her Scion xB. She got it from an M-B dealership and I have to say they did a pretty decent job when she took it, no swirls in the paint at all, so I decided to go "hands on" for this job. Here's the list of products used to bring it up to par:

    -ONR v2 rinseless wash
-Griot's clay bar, brand new too!
-Griot's One Step sealant (which has their machine polish #3 in it already) w/ Klasse AIO mixed in, making it what I use to clean the paint but could be used also be used to finish a car if in a hurry
    -Black Fire Crystal Seal
    -Dura Gloss Aqua Wax

The car was already pretty clean so I did a quick ONR rinseless on it, clean from the very start. Then I clayed the car, started with the hood and here's more proof, it may look clean and shiney, but you don't know till you start claying, check it out:

Once I was done claying I'd say it was a tad above average as far as grit goes, but now it was ready for some of my custom paint cleaner, came out great there, just applied it and wiped it off right away, no problems there at all and my cotton pad was pretty dirty when I was done, the car was already "poppin". Next up I decided to apply a coat of Black Fire Crystal Seal, went on as usual.....easy and when done, I went in the house and watched some "Wheeler Dealers" to let it flash and then went out there to finish up. I wasn't quite sure what I was going to finish with, I had BFWD as well as my new "fling", Dura Gloss #111, but since it was already getting pretty hot and I didn't feel like moving my buddy's MS3 out of the garage, I just grabbed my trusty bottle of Dura Gloss Aqua Wax to finish things up and as usual, DG AW didn't disappoint!!!

Here are the pics and thanks for looking, wish Kim a belated Happy Birthday, even though you don't know her, LOL!

Meet the crew for the day....

Here's a couple more angles of the "Gold Rush"

My buddy Hectour did a great job on the hubcaps, they were all road rashed up but he sanded the crap out of them and then used this cool matte black and bronze paint, not plasti-dip either and it really gives the xB a new look, came out great!

Thanks for looking, now I'm going to eat some left over ribs from the Italian restaraunt we went to last night for her birthday and yes, I ordered BBQ from a real Italian place, that's how I roll BTW, they are awesome too!

Thanks guys, its a labor of love for me, I detail my buddy's rides and he does routine preventive maintenance on mine and my g/f's, works out great and besides, I don't want anyone's car that I'm good friends with looking bad.

Yeah, there's liquid gold in them there bottles! Surely someone has tested AW against other similar products like those from CG, BF and the like but for under $10.00 is unbeatable IMO! I mean other products are atleast twice the price and when doing that, well, you could almost buy a gallon of AW, something I'll be doing over the winter for sure. You see, that's what we do here in the midwest in the winter, stock up for the spring and do a massive cleanup of all the crud on our cars!

    The title:

Then there's the play on words, get it....Gold Scion.....hmmm, maybe not. Maybe I should've posted pics of her husband's silver Mazdaspeed 3 that I ONR'd while I was there, maybe that would've tied it in a bit better.....maybe not.
