06 Rsx Type S- Milano Red

My brother just picked up this Type S with 47K on it. It had some swirls and so we decided to give some love and remove some of those. We don't have any of that professional stuff to remove them like the pro's do so we bought the Meguiars Paint Restoration kit:

We first started by washing the car and used the clay bar on the kit.
Then I took some pics of the swirls:

We started with Meguiars Ultimate Compound followed by Meguiars Ultimate Polish. The Polish is so hard to remove

After that I used some my Wolfgang 3.0 sealant to finish it off:

    And here are the results:

There still some swirls on it but we did the best we could by hand. Maybe later I'll buy the right equipment and products to make it perfect but for on the shelf products I think we did pretty good.

The engine bay was cleaned we he got the car at the dealer:

So go easy on us haha.

Looks great. Detailing is addicting. Once you see how good it came out by hand, you want to try a machine for even better results.

Yeah I've been wanting to buy the Meguiars DA polisher. Even a novice like me can use it and be safe.

Very nice! Looks like it has the same engine my old Civic Si had. Really miss that car. Pretty fun revving those things up to 8k RPM.

Nice find. I thought my 06 RSX with 55k miles had low mileage. They are fantastic cars, quick, fun to drive and just dead solid reliable. If you don't mind me asking, what did he pay?

Yeah they are pretty similar. I drive a 08 Si coupe. Both have the K20 engine and yeah that 8K RPM's are fun.

It was 18.5k. Maybe a little high but it was well taken care off. The interior is so clean. I'll try to take some pics.

LOL man let me tell you. We were beat by the end of it. It was more than 100 degrees by the time we were done. The ultimate compound was not that hard to remove. Maybe another later in the entire car would had removed more swirls but we got lazy haha. The Ultimate Polish was the one that took the most time to remove. Like 1 hour
But total hours spend in the garage was like 5 from wash to wiping off the sealant.
Yeah that wolfgang is some good stuff! I have only used once on my silver civic and it was very nice but it was just beautiful on this dark red.
