This car was in bad shape. I was able to clean a lot of it up, but there was a lot that was thru the clear. This would be expected from a non garaged daily driver. I could tell the car was repainted, but I don't know what year?
How do you handle the areas that had the clear coat worn off?
Looking back at what I wrote I think I was misleading. I was talking about some scratches that were too deep. I don't get into wetsanding or anything like that so I do what I can up to that point.
But to help answer what to do about that you might get a buch of answers. It would also depend on the extent of the clear coat damage? If its starting to flake off some might take a razor to it to try and clean it up before trying to put wax on it to make it look better. Others might say just work around it and leave it be.
Ultimately you need level the area out, repaint and reclear.
