NYC West End Detail (picture heavy)
Okay so since I have been washing my car outside on the street for sometime now, I decided when spring weather comes around I'd start a neighborhood car wash service under the title of "hobby auto detailer". I get plenty of compliments on my personal car, and how clean I keep it, why not make some money on the side.Nothing big time, just to get extra money here and there...I forgot my camera at the time of wash, so only used my camera phone. I made a business card via vistaprint (the cheap free ones lol) to put on windshields of cars in the neighborhood in the spring. But I made my first album, some before /afters, as to show my work. What better than to show an extremely dirty car before and after from a family member. Plus I got to test out the Cobra Guzzler HD which I got during the AGO 20% sale, I have been using meguairs waffle weave previously and they are laughable in comparison, the guzzler is great. So here's my first album: Volvo C70 for potential customers to check out online.
Car Products Used:
**Optimum No Rinse
**Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer
**Optimum Power Clean
**Meguiars Tire Endurance Gel (was using the last of it, since will be using Optimum Tire bond)
Car Wash Method:
**Sprayed panels down with ONR in a spray bottle to loosen some dirt
**Hosed the car down with water using my Nomad portable hose
**ONR 2 bucket method; water bucket with grit guard (2oz mix in 2 gallons of warm water) using ace grout sponge
[used 2 oz due to the heavy dirt caked on the car]
**Power Clean on the wheels/tires ; agitated using mothers tire/wheel brush combo and e-z detail brush
**Meguiars Endurance Gel using Cobra Tire Applicator
**Optimum instant detailer applied and dried with cobra gold plush towel (after using guzzler, blotting to dry some water up)

the phone cam pictures didn't do it justice unfortunately, it came out with a show room shine. Someone even stopped in their car to ask me what I was using since it had that wet look to it...thanks

ONR didn't scratch that black finish?

Great improvement, I just did a ONR wash on my black car today with pretty good luck. Only complaint is there is still some slat in the cracks and crevices that is hard to get. Can't wait to do a traditional wash when it gets warmer.

The car has previous surface scratches/swirls which I'm going to correct during the spring. But ONR doesn't/didn't scratch the finish. As an extra precaution due to the heavy dirt, I sprayed the car down with ONR from a spray bottle to loosen dirt. Rinsed the car with water. Then used a higher dilution of ONR in 2 gal bucket using sponge. Then I frequently use the grit guard to wipe the sponge after each pass/panel.

cool.you can use a spray bottle or something to get it out of the cracks. I use ONR exclusively as my "traditional car wash", I like the way it looks better after using ONR, and it is better for me as I only have a portable hose. It's easy for me to not deal with heavy suds, making washes quicker/easier for myself.
