My modest before & after.
A couple weeks ago I had created a thread asking for assistance in cleaning up a filthy car I had just purchased. If you are interested in that thread, it is here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/...ch-carpet.html . Well, I just wanted to be sure I posted an after as a thanks to those who gave me advice.
At the end of November I purchased a beater car in replacement for my former daily driver that I had not modified too extensively to drive everyday. My former daily driver now has too many one off custom parts that if they break will no longer make it reliable and require waiting approximately a month or so to replace it. Anyways, I was browsing Craigslist one night and came a cross that was being parted out. I initially only wanted the wheels & tires but upon speaking to the owner I could tell he was not to knowledgeable in regards to cars. I asked if I could check out the vehicle and by the time I did, it was already 9:30 or so. The car was absolutely dirty, filthy, and completely oxidized!
With that said, and oddly enough, it was exactly what I wanted in a beater; just a car to get me from point A to B and something I really did not care about if it got dinged. I picked up the vehicle 3 days later, during the daytime, and it looked worse than in the day.
Before
Folks, these are maggots, in the car. Yes, I said maggots!
During
- Arsenal
- PC 7424
- Brush Attachments

After
An overall picture of the exterior of the beater.

You are a brave man. I would have taken one look, lit it on fire, and pushed it off a cliff.
You got it in very nice condition considering what you started with.

Holy Smokes!
I hope you wore gloves:
Someone actually used/drove that vehicle?

You sir, are a brave man! Although I might have been tempted to clean that thing to prove my mettle (except for the maggots, to paraphrase Indiana Jones "maggots...why'd it have to be maggots!"), I don't think I could own that after seeing it in the original condition...

Apparently he was not too knowledgable in regards to hygiene, either, LOL!
