If you are directing this at me No I didn't but if I wanted it permanent then yes I would have primed it first...

Honestly on the B-Pillars I would sand them down a bit (you could even use some green Scotch Brite) then shoot them with Dupli-Color Trim Black paint... I love that stuff for restoring faded trim... Just make sure that you prep it properly and mask the whole side of the car to avoid any overspray...

The D-C TB is a satin black paint... My buddy that we did the M3 on wanted to be able to go back to chrome if he decided to sell it so PD it was as you just clean it with some degreaser then mask and shoot...If he wants to go back he can just rub it in a corner hard and peel it off...

Really loving all of these cheap restoration DIY's they are slowly making this neglected car look amazing.

Very nice! Did you go with the Plasti Dip for the pillars???

I took all the pieces of the dash out that had wood on them and wrapped them with 3M Dinoc black carbon fiber vinyl... Looks amazing now...

No, I took your advice and primered and used Dupli-color MAtte Trim on it. Love it.

Wood Grain trim replacement is on the list. I just bought black door panel inserts to do a 2 tone on them. Going to redye the seats black soon after, once that's done I will tackle the interior trim.

A little patience and some light work will make anything look great and give you that great feeling of accomplishment!

I am possibly doing this to the Z3...

Not sure on the trim replacement yet, saw someone do a gloss black I liked. Going Leatherique (OEM Charcoal Black) on the seats. That and finally some OEM black floor mats and I should be set.

Can't wait to get going on that.
