Sister's 07 Mazda 3 Hatch - Extreme Pop!!!
My sisters been asking me to detail her baby mobile for a while now, but being a single mother she can never find the time to leave it with me, but finally this past weekened I was finally able to get to it. She told me she would be back home on Saturday around noon, but she didnt get back till 3 in the after noon, which was ok, gave me plenty of time to set up, which ill show you in the pics. Anyways, didnt stop Saturday till midnight and started back up on it around 11 a.m. the following day and didnt finish till about 11 pm, so a good 20 plus hrs of work and that was only doing the exterior. The paint condition wasnt horrible, light swirling, watermarks, but a fair amount of RIDS, and the front bumper was basically shot due to bug etching, thought about wetsanding it, but decided the etchings were to bad and it would take to long to correct, thus there are no pics of the bumper. I did however give it a quick pass with the rotary, shined it a lil. As for the rest of the car ill let the pics do the talking, all I can say is the best metal flake pop I have ever seen, from the door james to the fender, just WOW!!!! Well on the the good stuff........
PROCESS:
WASH:
Presoak - Dawn/CG APC via Foam Cannon
Wash - Dawn, CG APC, CG Wheel Cleaner, MF Mitt, and Various Detailing Brushes
Clay - DP Universal Clay and CG QD
(clayed while still wet)
Dried - CG MF WW Towel and ONR
WetSand - 3M 2000 and CG QD
(wetsanded the side mirrors and various deep scratches/paint defects)
Compound/Polish - 2 Makitas, 5" and 3" BP,
CG Hex Pads (Orange and White - 5.5" and 4"),
Menzerna SIP and 106, IPA Wipe Down, and
Plenty of MFs
Hand Polished Door Jams with 106 and MF Pad
LSP - Megs. # 21 Synthetic Sealant 2.0 x2
(Found it a Oreilly's for $20, figured I'd give it a try and for a $20 Sealant it is very impressive, purple in color, somewhat of a chemical smell, very easy to spread, very even coats, and very easy to wipe off, no residue or streaking, very slick finish and in my case major flake pop and depth, a must have and a new fav. Used on paint, door jams, windows, trim, and rims.)
Wheels/Tires - Megs. #21 on Rims, Megs. Hotshine Spray and Megs. Endurance Gel.
Windows - Hand Polished with DP Glass Polish and Sealed with Megs. #21
Trim - Cleaned with Klasse AIO and Sealed with Megs. #21
Final Wipe Down - Megs. Ultimate Quick Wax
(another must have in my opinion)

Compounding/Polishing:
Lucky for me we just built a new garage, no lights in it yet, but all I needed was my spotlight, lit the place up pretty good.
Set up for the the process, might have spent a little to much time on that, lol, but had everything I needed close by.
And of course I needed some jams, set up the laptop and cranked up the Trance, unfortunately the garage amplified the sound and sis got made cause I woke the baby up, my bad.
New Technique I have adopted and really made a difference on getting the lower areas and made the top sections on the opossite side easier as well.
A lil light on pics of the actual buffing process, sorry, to focused on getting it done, but here is what I got.
My cousin came the next day to help, he took these pics, may use them in my detailing brochure.
Final Wash to remove all the dust and residues, yes it was dark outside and very cold.
More Pictures Coming......

Thank you for the pictures in the sun, shows the true condition of the paint. A picture of a car in the shade or sunset just screams "defected paint". Good job.

Your title is very appropriate. She must have been very happy with how it turned out. I am also a big fan of meg21. Bought it a while back when AG had all meg products on sale
