Re: My 2019 Jetta GLI 35th Edition
The problem is often the availability of 93 gas. It's pretty easy to find in the eastern US, but you head west of the Mississippi and it's almost impossible to find. I've found 93 disappears somewhere around central Missouri when heading down I-44. I havent been in Kansas City in a while, but I'm pretty sure it isn't available there either.
If I was to tune my current car, I'd probably go with a 91 octane tune in order to get appropriate gas anywhere I go, whether it's 91 or 93 neither wouldbe a problem.
Fun fact: The owner's manual pin my car specifically calls out 93 octane gas for peak horsepowerv and states anything 91 and lower will take a hit in output. Owners across the country get a little miffed because nearly 2/3 of the US doesn't have access to it. No one really knows how much of a hit you take when running 91, and at higher altitudes 91 supposedly operates like 93, so it may be all a bunch of nothing.

About $1 per gallon around here usually +/- $0.05. Shell is usually on the higher end by a few cents but worth it still. Even that the significantly faster rate at which I'm going through fuel these days...lol.

My car says 91 on the inside of the fuel filler door, 87 if that is all that is available. Never put 87 in any of my VWs before so can't speak to power loss but I'm sure I'd notice. Around here 87, 89, and 93 are the most common. The new 15% Ethonol E88 is getting more common. Sunoco here has 87, 89, 91, 94 usually and sometimes even 104. APR has a 104 tune, there are a few Sunocos around me. I considered it.

Nice! Never was a fan of mismatched colored panels, I always said if my car ever saw a spray booth the roof and mirror caps would get the pure grey treatment. But to each his own that why I love the car scene

APR just dropped their new bolt-on turbo for 2018+ 3.0TFSI engine. Impressive numbers, as usual. Anyone with a 3.0TFSI Audi could make quite the sleeper. Stock downpipe sleeper mode like me.

Yeah it's a CF hood, most people leave it exposed to show they've got one. I like when people paint parts of them and leave say the vented parts exposed

Although not a Bears fan, Shell has a .25 cent discount on gas on Bears game day
