So the first of two details completed this week goes to my friend Tim who is now also involved in a local racing group I'm a member in. Tim and I met several years back when I traded my Audi S4 in. I had worked with another friend and Audi Ambassador at a local dealer when I first got it to make several adjustments in the VAG Com Tool including my cell phone number hidden in the menu system in the event a car-guy or gal bought it and decided to modify things. LOL! What a small world he did exactly that and then contacted me.To add to the irony, he bought a VERY similar Miata that I was looking at just before I bought my Accord. With that pickup, he was interested in getting it cleaned up and ceramic coated.

All in all with Mazda having perhaps the "thinnest" paint system out there, it does take some care in polishing them and understanding the thickness on every.single.panel. I can do a lot in terms of correction work but here the goal was to get it greatly cleaned up but not burn through anything chasing perfection. Just as important, save the precious clear coat and UV layer as well. To seal in all the results, he went with a single layer CarPro Ceramic as it will offer years of protection, and given it's only a daily driver fun car in the summer/rain, not year-round, it really made sense for his application. In addition, I polished and coated the glass all-around and the little bits of trim on the windshield cowling and grill as well. Wheels were left out as the previous owner Plasti-Dipped them which needs to go and thus Tim will be using the skills of one more friend (I network extensively) for fresh powder coat in the coming months. Ryan does fantastic work and thus I'm sure he will come up with something that compliments the fantastic color scheme here well.

This is Tim's 2020 Miata RF (Retractible Fast-back) finished in Polymetal Gray Metallic over Red Nappa Leather with a great gloss black trim package. Thanks to Tim for his continued trust in my work and may this beauty continue to put smiles on the years to come.

Products used, of course, include a pair of Flex 3401's with 5-6.5" Rupes Yellow pads along with my Rupes Nano Long Neck and yellow pads. Polish was CarPro Essence and LSP was CarPro SiC. Small amount of CarPro Dlux needed for the trim.
