Did you scrub the garage after to get rid of the Holden germs?

Almost, I had to pressure wash the driveway to remove all the mud and brake dust sludge that the Holden shed during the wash phase.

Its great to learn that Ford doesn't shed any dirt whatsoever.

    Re: DFB's Garage

There is something magical about cleaning your own, well-maintained cars, it's so much easier and enjoyable.

If it hadn't rained yesterday, I would have skipped the Ranger this week, but it got the better of me. Soap of choice being Shine Supply Shift, drying aid Carpro Release. A quick swipe with Carpro Perl on the tyres and it was onto the Mustang.

Again, if it hadn't rained yesterday, I wouldn't have needed to wash the Mustang today. But because I needed the garage to detail the Cruze yesterday, the Mustang sat across the road in the rain. I only do this when there's money involved! In this case, I decided to just do a quick rinse-less wash with P&S Absolute and Bead Maker.

    And then....................

It lives! I may or may not have given it a REALLY good thrashing, so much so I needed to stop by the gas station for some fuel on the way home.

Oh, and the black lines are not from me!

What do think? Is 15 years a good run on a set of wiper blades?

The XR6 is in for some love over the next week or so, addressing a few age-related things and honing my skill for the future. It will be another one of my stay-cations! Can't wait!

I'd say that's pretty good, when I was using the genuine Toyota blades I was getting maybe a year, but that's on something sitting outside 24/7. Currently I have Bosch and they've been good about a year now. When I did use the Toyota genuine blades, you only get the actual rubber blades, you don't get the thin metal bits that hold them rigid on the arm.

What's the age on the tyres? I don't like keeping them past 5 years, regardless of how much tread they have left, the rubber goes hard and loses grip, especially in the wet. That's why I changed the tyres on the Qashqai a while back, and went with a softer compound as well.

Yaaaay! I managed to land a public holiday! Thanks Dan.................

Sanity detail on the XR8 first up this morning, my antics clearly entertaining the neighbors across the street watching while they sat on the front porch.

I washed the wheels with Purge for a deeper clean, tyres with Brake Buster. NV Snow was in the foam cannon, with OG Drying Aid after the wash, OG Tire Dressing on the rubber. I also decided to top the DLUX on the rear diffuser with a coat of Reload 2.0.
