39 Year Old Porsche Get's restored and Preserved

I'll keep this post brief. Friend of mine from our local racing group is moving to Cali. and will be taking this gem with him as his daily driver. Yeah....you read that right. It's stablemate and weekend toy is a red Ferrari Testarossa so there's that.....

Anyway, cars of this era have great single-stage paint and this one is no exception. Goal here was to feed the paint, remove the oxidation and amp up the gloss with my philosophy of "Paint Preservation" as a solid foundation. There are no swirls but the goal was to leave some of the remembrances....my kind word for RIDS in order to preserve the 39yr+ old finish.

This was all done with Flex Polishers, Orange Lake Country Flat pads and the refinement of GYEON Primer as the polish. To seal it all up GYEON Pure EVO was applied. That was then topped 24hrs later with CanCoat EVO to add a bit more gloss and a crazy hydrophobic property to an already solid coating. Wheels were polished and coated with GYEON Q2 RIM and the trim was completed with CarPro Dlux.

I won't go on forever but rather let the end results speak for themselves. Hate to see a friend move away, but he's taking a little bit of me with him in the work completed here.

Sweet car When I had my repair shop back in the day I had a steady customer with a European 930 turbo 4 speed.
That car was 110 mph coming out of 2nd gear. Definitely great work on that car looks new…
