Re: Racing Red Veloster N
Going up or down in the tire size you have a range of what you can do if your speed gauge is coupled in a way that throw off the accurate show of the speed. Then you useally have the option to say if have the 225/40-18. You can get a 215/45-18 and get about the same diameter of the tire. The tire shop useally knows this and they have charts on it too and you will find it by Google searching also I think. This when you go up or down in the size of the rim as from 19"-18" IIRC you ad plus 10 on the sides if you maintain the same width of the tire. So if you have 255/35-19 and goes down you get 255/45-18. But as mentioned there are charts of this that shows much more correct. My explanation is more generally speaking so you know how it works with the different sizes. The number of the tires hight IIRC is the percentage of the tires width which is on the marking of the tire.

The reduction in rotational weight will be a greater difference than the difference in sidewall. I will be going from Pirelli P Zeros on my stock wheels to Conti Extreme Contact Sports on aftermarket wheels which I ran on my Focus ST and loved em. Best tire Ive ever driven in the rain. I push a car as much as possible on the street sometimes and I couldnt get the Continentals to even flinch in the rain.
You didn’t mention wider. All for that.... what width are you getting and what’s stock? Also are you lowering?

I see a 235/40/18 or 245/40/18 going on that car, I mean it's an 8.5" width rim

Im getting 245/40 and Im not lowering. I dont want to mess with the electronic suspension. Only thing I may do is a larger rear sway bar.
