    Windshield cowl to the max.

I’m normally pretty OCD when it comes to the windshield cowl area, but in order for it to really be proper it has to be restored all the way through. Earlier this week I polished my windshield inside & out and that turned out great, but I couldn’t help but notice the surrounding area wasn’t up to par. So today I decided to paint my windshield wiper arms.

    Here’s how they looked before.

    No bueno.

    Prep for spray paint.

    Bam!Windshield cowl to the max.

I applied Blackfire Tire & Trim Sealant to the cowl, TW Endura Trim Coating to the blade housings.

    Final results.

I’m very happy with the results. Thanks for checking it out.Windshield cowl to the max.

I thought about doing that to the wiper arms on my super duty. I replaced them with new OEM for $40.00 total. Now I will take care of them from the start. I do not have the patience to do all that masking to save $40.00. That being said, yours came out very nice. That blackfire trim sealant is really good stuff. Very impressed with it!

Looks great. Wouldn’t it have been easier to take the arms off the vehicle tho??

Thanks guys. I actually think they look better right now than when they’re new because the way they come on this and most vehicles is more of a flat matte black which is hard to get any pop out of.. The paint left a matte black finish but it’s alot deeper black compared to the plain black metal look they had before. Before, the only way to get them to pop was to wipe them down with spray wax but the results were short lived.

I’ll see how long it holds up, but it’s so easy to do that it’s totally worth it.

I’m not the most mechanically inclined person you’ll meet, so removing them didn’t even come to mind. It would’ve been more work making sure I didn’t screw something up than it was to lay down 2 plastic drop cloths and a bit of tape.

I'm loving the results and it really finishes off the windshield area. Did you sand down all of the surfaces or just remove the loose paint? What type of spray paint did you use?
