2013 Subaru BRZ corrected and coated

We hear the words paint correction thrown around so much. But a more applicable title for what removing paint defects and swirls is could not be. Swirled and stained and dull paint is wrong. Paint shiny and free of defects is correct! (except for those matte finish lovers).

A fellow forum member reached out to me to help her with her car. Without the means to correct her paint on her own at the present time, she needed help. She just took delivery of this used BRZ from across the country. Paint was covered in swirls and water spots, and had no protection. Aside from that, the car overall looked like it had been kept out of the sun for the most part as nothing was faded. Turns out she had the skills she didnt even knew she had to paint correct

We started with a wash and decontamination step using a Nanoskin towel. Tested a small section with Ironx and there was no reaction, so the car was free of iron deposits.

Can see the water spots and swirls:

We hit the car up using Mckees 37 Fast Compound with an Orange Lake Country Thin Pro pad.
Followed with Mckees 37 Fast Polish with a Thin Pro White pad.
Cleaned the paint using CarPro Eraser.
Last step was followed with Pinnacle Black Diamond Paint Coating v2. Hadnt used the coating in a while and forgot how easy it was to apply.

All sporty Subarus should be that color blue. Great work, the difference in clarity is night and day. That car probably looks better than the day it left the show room.

Very neat that you were able to help a fellow AGO member. What type of machine(s) did you use to polish that beauty?

I used my Rupes LHR21ES (first generation, works fine, no need to upgrade) and I had her use my PC7424XP. Those are all my machines at use at once

Great work and nice of you to help out! I agree with the others that sporty Subarus would only come in that color it's a classic. The Merlin shot are beutieful.
