2013 Accord Coupe - Mckee's 37 Love

Hello,

I was recently on the fence about getting a new car or keeping my Accord. I decided to just keep it. Cant replace that sweet V6. Its 5 years old, with 53k miles, so I figure Ill keep it for another 5 years at least.

Therefore I decided to give it a little love. I obviously take excellent care of it normally. There were some light scratches and water spots, but no swirls.

After washing the car, I decontaminated the paint with a nanoskin sponge. On the hood and roof I used Mckee's 37 Fast Compound which LC Orange Thin Pro and my Rupes. I followed that up and the rest of the car with Mckee's 37 Fast polish and a white LC thin pro pad. To pre the panels for coating, I wiped them down with Wolfgang Perfekt Finish Paint Prep. On the hood and roof I used Mckee's 37 new paint coating. The rest of the car got a pass with Mckee's Trademark Policoat wax.

A few thoughts on the coating as this was my first time using it. Its different from all other coatings Ive used before (Wolfgang, Pinnacle Black Label, original Mckees) in that is really didnt "flash". It wipes on and spreads thicker and then kinda dried like a wax. I immediately buffed off the residue and was left with a super slick, super glossy surface. There were no high spots per say, just a residue. The buffing required some effort which was the downside, but the upside was I could easily see I had wiped everything off the paint. I guess time will tell how long it will last. It also seemed that maybe the coating was filling some leftover light scratches? Or my imagination anyway.

Policoat wax is the polar opposite, spreads thin and easy and wipes off with zero effort.

Anyway, after I was done, I was really pleased with my own work. I think the car looks awesome, although I am a little biased since its mine, and I did the work to it
