    Winter prep on my Silverado.

I did this last week, but am just now posting this. The past couple of years I was able to get my winter prep details in at the end of October. I barely snuck this one in between all of the rain and below average temperatures Michigan has experienced lately. Please note that I did not do the wheels and tires as this was about getting the paint protected before winter hits.

    Process:
Iron removal via McKees 37 xtreme iron remover.
2BM wash with Meguiars Shampoo Plus.
    Dried with Cobra guzzler.
Clayed with Poorboys world clay and ONR lube.
LSP is my favorite; Collinite 845.

Please note that I did not polish, as the paint is 98% swirl free. I am the only one that has ever touched the paint on this....I did not let the dealer prep it when I bought it a little over a year ago.

    After a wash and clay:

Thanks for looking. Not a whole lot to document as this was a simple wash/clay/wax.

Looks great! Where in MI are you located? Colli 476/845 are still a great combo to survive through a salty mixed bag of MI weather!

Thank you! I've had the best luck with Collinite for sure, although I've never used a coating before. I'm in Washtenaw County, you?

The gloss is amazing. You might want to give some thought to the undercarriage. I started using Fluid Film. It coats and seals the metal including any existing rust.

Thanks! The undercarriage is currently coated with Amsoil Metal Protector HD. If I feel that it doesn't do a decent job (it did last winter), I'll switch to Fluid Film.

No, they're Falken AT3W's. So far no complaints, they did very well in the snow last year (they have the mountain snowflake symbol).
