2014 Subaru Forester
Dear Forum Members,
Sometimes we don't always get to do 911's or Rolls-Royce's, but I enjoyed this one as well. A friend brought over his wife's 2014 Forester. The car was not in bad shape, although it did have it's fair share of spider webs and a some "batches of scratches". This was the first Subaru I did, and wow is the paint soft!!! A month ago on this forum I asked about Subaru paint softness more out of curiosity only to see firsthand today. The paint corrects VERY easily, to the point you have to be careful not to overcorrect. Here's what I used:
- Griot's Brilliant Car Wash
- Meguire's Clay bar and detail spray
- Pinnacle XMT2 (discontinued) polish using Griot's BOSS white pad (XMT2 slightly more aggressive than 360)
- McKee's 360 (used for the purpose of brightening the paint and protection layer of sealant) using LC red finishing pad
- Griots GG6
- McKee's 37 Vinyl and Trim Protectant
- McKee's 37 APC (for cloth seat stains and interior)
- Pinnacle Glass Cleaner
I am sure just as easy as the paint was to correct, it would be just as easy to mar it. I really liked the color of the car once done. Not too light, not too dark. Eye catching color when clean.
Have a nice weekend everyone,
ScottH

Scott, I'm sure treated it like a 911, nicely done

No, it is definitely not a Rolls or 911, but have you ever seen a Rolls or 911 cruising through 6 inches of snow
That Subaru looks great, very nice correction, super glossy and great clarity. Also, I like your 50/50 shots.

A Rolls Royce would be able to do that, no problem.

Lookin good. Now you just have to teach your buddy how to properly wash it to preserve the finish.

Hell yeah they made the merlin engine. If they can power the spitfire and the hurricane im sure they can handle 6" of snow.
