OH LOOK! ITS ANOTHER CLASSIC BRITISH CAR DETAIL!!! 1954 Morgan +4

Uh oh, me again. Hope you guys arent getting tired of seeing these old cars... or me posting. Lets get to it!

I detailed the owners SL500 months ago and this Morgan is finally road worthy and ready to run! However, a car like this can't run around with bad looking paint. After a discussion the owner, we decided on a full detail. In this situation that includes a full interior, one step correction, and my choice of DODO supernatural, optiseal, or 845..... probably going to be supernatural on a car like this.

These are the pictures of the car as it was dropped of this evening, Ill update the thread tomorrow night

Re: OH LOOK! ITS ANOTHER CLASSIC BRITISH CAR DETAIL!!! 1954 Morgan +4

Good afternoon everyone! Hopefully your day was as awesome as mine,

Continued working on the paint today but was quickly sidetracked by the arrival of some awesome new garage cabinets. I have the car a little more than half way polished and will be posting up the conclusion post tomorrow evening. For the time being, enjoy the current transformation and new cabinets!

Side note, this car was repainted at some point in the 60's in singe stage Imron aircraft paint. The paint job currently suffers from cracking/Bondo shrinkage and bubbling which is enough to scare off any detailer that has some common sense. Since I sometimes lack that... I still took the job. The car is only getting a once over with Rupes yellow combo and it WILL have a number of defects remaining. I deemed this the safest option and the owner agreed. The one step correction is still removing an AMAZING amount of defects and leaving a finish that is 100000x better that it originally was. Enjoy!

    Louver correction

Correction of paint on hood around louvers

    Drivers door

    Behind drivers door

And here is the progress stopper. Rain was in the forcast for this evening so i had to stop working on the car to unpack these and get them set up. The 4 cabinets in the center are going to be split up. 2 of them will be used for holdind welding supplies near the garage door and the other two will be mounted to the wall between the two tall cabinets. There is a bamboo counter top under the small cabinets. So far i am loving these!

    Thanks for looking!

Re: OH LOOK! ITS ANOTHER CLASSIC BRITISH CAR DETAIL!!! 1954 Morgan +4

That makes me so happy to see! When I was 16, I was given a 1956 Morgan +4. I helped sand the car and we painted it red. The cracking under the fender lights is VERY typical Morgan due to the suspension struts attaching underneath. I hated polishing those damned louvers too, LOL. Morgans have a cool factor that no other car has. They always had a 10 year waiting list for a new one. I did a 1936 Morgan a few years ago...one of the first years for a 4 wheeled car from them.

Car is done, heres the rest of the correction pictures from today. Car was topped with DoDo Supernatural wax

    Passenger door

    Passenger rocker

Cleaned up the lambs wool hood strap

Passenger side louvers and photos of "burned" paint i took before polishing. This is why I hate polishing louvers, they are an edge and a curve and are usually very thin. I try to document any such areas before polishing to cover my own butt.

Wax build up that was never removed

    passenger fender

And here are the finished shots! Enjoy!
