    Survior 1990 Mustang!!!! Awesome transformation!

Had a client bring his Mustang by about a month ago for a initial inspection and to discuss pricing etc. On the phone he mentioned it was a 1990 7up edition. Which is a Emerald Green paint with white convertible top and white leather. I thought to myself "Oh boy this is going to be trashed!"

When he showed up I couldn't believe my eyes. It turns out this was a survivor car with 16k original miles that's been sitting in storage. Although solid and low miles the paint was a swirled mess. The client wanted the car looking like it should. We settled on a full interior detail, exterior correction and IGL Quartz+ 3yr coating. Let's just say that about 30 min after he left with his freshly detailed Mustang he called me back and booked in his 2017 Mustang gt350 and 04 Mustang Cobra for the same packages!

    On arrival

For interior cleaning I used a mix of steam and a little bit of Mckees 37 total interior cleaner for heavy spots.

    Before and afters

Even steamed the bottoms of the doors etc.

After a through decon and wash it was time for a test spot. Ended up going with M205, BOSS microfiber cutting pad and my g21. Along with m205, 3in Meguiars mf disk and my Adams 12mm mini.

Finish polishing was with m205, BOSS yellow perfecting pad.

This paint was very soft and m205 took care if it awesome!

Looking good! Solid job on that old Fox body! I knew they were pretty rare, but not sure if people knew the breakdown of these cars. I see a guy locally driving one. That car needs a lot of help, like this one did!! Here's some history on the 7-Up cars...

•1990 Mustang Limited Edition convertibles are called "7-Up cars" today because the program came out of a canceled Mustang give-away contest though 7-Up (Basically the premise was during the NCAA tournament. You hit a half court shot and win the car)
•Ford had initially planned to build 5,000 Limited Edition convertibles for 1990, but only 4,103 were produced
•All of these Limited Edition convertibles were LX models with the 5.0L engine, and all had Emerald Green Clearcoat Metallic paint, white leather interior, white top, handling suspension, and power accessories
•Transmission breakdown: 1,360 came with the five-speed manual; 2,743 had automatic overdrive
    •261 were exported
•201 have been documented by the 1990 Limited Edition Mustang Convertible Registry

    Again, nice work!

    Very nicely done!

Thanks for the backstory on those cars, damaged442. I have a soft spot for the Fox body Stangs, having owned an '89 GT. Personally, I think the 5-spoke pony wheels look a lot better than the turbines, but you can't mess with this original! Except I'd tell the new owner to swap out the rear gears from 2.73 to 3.73 and see how fun the car can really be!

    Stella work Justin.

Man, that Mustang came out really nice. Great work on the interior too, theres something pleasing about earlier vehicles & the materials used for interiors, they just seem to be of a higher standard. Nowadays you look at some door trim the wrong way, & next thing you know its all scuffed up & ugly.

Beautiful work as usual my friend, a fantastic turnaround indeed. Love that green.
