Probably due to the economical crisis, they look for the cheapest, get the worst, and then try to fix it when the deal is done.
Sometimes it is so bad that you need a pre-cut stage, to level it off, like rotary, wool and menz 300, since cutting alone with let's say menz 400 isn't enough.
What I bluntly say to my clients is that his car's clearcoat 'got AIDS', because the level of correction needed is so profound that the remaining clearcoat will be so thin to withstand and to be able to give the protection needed.
Probably this is the reason I've been seeing so much cases of clearcoat failure nowadays in cars that are not supposed to be showing it, like 2010, 2011 cars, the thin clearcoat trend and one or two hack detailing job is enough to screw it up permanently.
Best regards, mate.
Thank you.
Yeah, I too have seen a few too many late model vehicles driving around woth clear coat failure of late. I hadn't given it much thought that this type of work may have been a contributing factor, I was along the line of thought that maybe modern paint systems are just not up to the task these days but perhaps you're onto something.

I'm sure the 50/50 pictures would have been even more dramatic in the sunlight too.

I could help but smile when I saw just how nice the green really was, very satisfying indeed but also sad that people work like this too.

Spruce Mica! Nice. I hadn't seen this colour before, or at least I hadn't seen its true colours before, I really like it, such a course metallic too.

Hahaha, yeah - I thought of doing something like that. I doubt they would "get it" at all. If they were okay with letting it leave their shop the way it was, I believe they're beyond help.

It certainly is satisfying when you can do it properly & get results like this, although I would rather just the holograms without all the compound in every crevice & on all the black trim (My McKee's 37 Wax Remover For Plastic Trim arrived today, doh!)
but still, I see way too many cars like this, & more & more I will more than likely see more cars without enough paint to correct the damage.

Kind words indeed. I posted these pictures on my shops Facebook page & it got a bit of interest. Kinda the whole "each one, teach one" deal. The more people that see it, the more people learn how its done properly.

Very scary . . . I struggle to understand why such a person would be in the automotive appearance industry & not have a smidgen of an eye for detail.

I hear ya there Mike, they probably sleep just fine at night too, not like this ol' beat up detailer - I go home hurting sure but I know what I done that day was done with pride.
