    Marine Restoration (Complete Turn Around)

This boat was a great project and after a long 4 days of hard work and dedication this boat is now for sale after it's complete 180 turn around.

Here's some pictures of its original condition before any work was put in.

After viewing the boat and doing a thorough walk around I noticed that it's gelcoat was extremely oxidized and that it needed to be wet sanded.

I began by doing a thorough cleaning by washing the boat remove any loose debris and dirt.

After that I started the wet sanding I started out at 600 grit and work my way all the way up to 2000 grit to refine the scratches to be removed with a Makita rotary with 7" wool pad using Maguires marine compound.

After completely wet sanding the entire boat and then compounding it as well I removed all the compound with rubbing alcohol deluded 50 to 1 to strip the hull to have a clean Canvas to begin the polishing and waxing stages.

I switched over to a 7" foam pad and began to polish the entire boat bring out that beautiful shine which was hiding underneath the boats gel coat.

After the polishing stage I changed to my 7" waxing pad and laid down a nice coat of Maguires marine wax for protection.

    Finial results

VERY NICE! Did you use the rotary for all the steps? Or a DA for the polish and wax?
