When I was a kid back in the late 70's a buddy had a '70 Olds 442. Much fun was had, & much hell was raised in that car. So when another buddy came to me recently about detailing his 442, I anxiously said Yes! It's not every day I get to take a trip down memory lane, & rub on a classic musclecar.
The car was restored & painted in base/clear about 17 years ago, & it's been a garage queen ever since. Going over it I found very little little swirling or other imperfections. The ones I did find were easily taken care of with HD Adapt & a cutting pad. But the paint just seemed dull, so after claying I went over the whole car with HD Polish. I then gave it a coat of HD Poxy for protection.
The chrome had spots & other assorted crud on it from years of not being polished, so I grabbed a bottle of Mother's Chrome Polish & started rubbing. Man, this thing has a LOT of chrome! Cleaned the glass, & the wheels & tires. Tomorrow morning I'll do the engine compartment & it'll be ready to deliver. This one was a lot of fun!
