    2005 Honda Odyssey

This vehicle belongs to my neighbour. I'm going to be doing 3 cars for him over the next 3 weeks. I have done this van twice in the past, the last time being 2 years ago when I coated it with Americoat. It did not hold up as well as the CQuartz products (and originally Opti Coat) that I have done for him in the past, so this time it was getting coated with CQuartz (original).

Here it is as it arrived:

The front end not only had these scratches, but the clear was peeling in a few places too. It had been repainted in the past...maybe not well.

This is his winter vehicle, hence the Blizzaks on it. It is being put away once I am done with it.

    Check out the monster scratch!

Another 2 places (that had been painted) where the clear coat was peeling:

I did not do anything to the front bumper and I suggested he get it repainted due to the badly peeling clear on it. I'll coat it after at some point.

The starting point as always was the wheels. The tires were cleaned with Zep 505 and the wells were cleaned with LATA. The barrels were initially done with Tarminator, followed by Zep Citrus. The faces were cleaned with a combo of Zep Citrus and Megs HW. The barrels were shot with Aqua Bead.

The van was then washed using Megs HW followed by a decontamination wash of IronX paste. It was then brought inside and was clayed with a clay towel.

The paint was treated to a 2 stage process with the first step being M100 with a black wool TB pad using my 3401 followed by M205 using a CarPro Gloss Pad. The touch ups were done including those few areas with chipping clear. At least (hopefully) that will stop that from happening if it has a coating over it. The headlights and tail lights were given the same 2 step process.

The paint, head lights, tail lights, wheels and all glass except for the windshield were given 2 coats of CQ original. The tires were shot with OptiBond via my air gun and then leveled. The trim was done with DLux.

    Here it is all done:

Here's that nasty scratch filled and coated:

    Some reflection shots:

You can see how cloudy it was unfortunately:

I was just shy of 20 hours on this van. Comments are always appreciated.

Nice work! I have a black Odyssey on the to-do list also - hopefully it turns out as good as this one.

Thanks kindly. I haven't used a sealant in a long, long time, but when I did, I liked DG 105. I would precede it with DG 501. I would then top them with Collonite for the win. I would get a year out of that combo. The coatings I use now last longer than that however.

Beautiful work as always Richy! The real payoff is when your neighbor pulls it back out maybe sometime in November and has the nicest looking vehicle to battle the winter.

Another great job Richy! Just curious to get your input on CQ (regular). I've used the newest version a few times now and swear it looks better than UK. How would you say it stacks up to Finest in looks?
