Black Camaro 2 step correction and CQUK

Hi everyone. Recently a customer brought me their black Chevrolet Camaro for a correction and coating service. The paint was pretty beat up since the car usually gets cleaned at automated car washes.

After a quick wash, Iron X, and clay decontamination, I brought the car inside for closer inspection. Plenty of swirls and deep scratches for me to work with.

After some test spots, I decided on doing the initial correction with my Rupes LHR15 Mark II, Meguiar's microfiber cutting pads, and Shine Supply Flat Top. I planned on following up with CarPro Essence and CarPro Gloss Pads.

As you can see, this made quick work of the defects.

I also debadged the plastidipped Camaro lettering and Batman logo. New lettering was provided by the customer for me to install later.

(I use that pad for grunt work like removing leftover lettering holograms. Pardon my dust. )

As for the Mark II, I absolutely love this machine. It's incredibly smooth and comfortable to use but still extremely effective for removing defects fast. There is a noticeable difference in pad rotation compared to the first gen. Far less stalling on curved and vertical panels.

After the initial compounding, I finished CarPro Essence and Gloss Pads. This brought out some serious depth and shine and prepped the paint for the coating application.

Next up was applying CQuartz UK to the paint. Wheels and glass were treated to GTechniq C2V3.

The car was looking great at this point. I did a final walk around to check for high spots and finished with a coat of CarPro Reload a few hours later.

The customer and myself were very pleased with the results.

By the way, I managed to do some test spots with the new McKee's 37 360 against some HD Speed. I also did an engine compartment cleanup with McKee's 37 Engine Degreaser. I'll post some threads on those soon.

Well that's all I've got, thanks for looking!

Look great! If anyone ever asks me about black as I have owned quite a few black vehicles, it's because of images and threads like this. Nothing looks as good as a cleaned up and properly prepared black car.

Do you find Flat Top a bit overkill, as opposed to Classic Cut? I'm just curious, I have just received my first Shine Supply shipment. Thanks

Amazing detail work and write-up as always Haris!!! You made that black paint look perfect.

Is that a plastic blade or something? I assume it's safe for paint? Is it normally used to remove leftover adhesive?

Keep up the good work bro!

    Nice work.

Thank you for the great photography.

I wish everyone would include 50/50's and close-up as you did.
