Depends on your expectations. You must ask yourself; Do I preserve it? Or Do I protect it? Are you hand rubbing? If so you have tried what Mike would say is "least aggressive method first".

I have been using D.U.B. wheel cleaner on my LAnd Rover wheels with great success, It took off the stuff that Griots HD wheel cleaner did not touch.

I spray a dedicated brush directly , then apply to tire. Works well gets in all the nooks and crannies.

Bill- I am just outside of Cleveland Ohio, Lake Erie the "North Coast".

No wood panels on these. The frames are indeed structural though.

Now for the fun stuff. My son refers to the car as a "Ten Footer" looks good from 10 feet.

My goal is to preserve and protect the car. Trying to keep it "un-restored".
