I agree. I have used the aprons but the location of the pockets for any supplies put you at risk of coming into contact with the paint. These seem to be off to the side which would be much better IMO.

Might seem strange but check the brushes. Tighten the set screws that hold them in and see if there is a change. I had the same issue with my 21 and it was the brushes. I still need to get in touch...
