  1. Cleaning foam pads when polishing/waxing by hand

Cleaning foam pads when polishing/waxing by hand.

There's a lot of talk about cleaning pads while working, but this discussion usually centers on machine polishing. I've read the "polish on the...
  2. Re: 303 Aerospace or ArmorAll Original: Which Is Better?

I'm fairly new here as well - a lot of great information on here, especially from people excited to try the latest and greatest detailing products; nothing wrong with that as I like testing new...
  3. Re: Ultra fine polish vs cleaner every 3 months before wax safe for clear coat?

    Yes, daily driver.

My plan at this time is to polish 1-2x/year.
I've already compounded once with Meguiars ultimate compound, and from what I've read, hopefully that is the only time I will...
  4. Re: Ultra fine polish vs cleaner every 3 months before wax safe for clear coat?

So far I've used Meguiars ultimate liquid wax and optimum car wax. I have collinite 845 that I haven't tried yet.

The Meguiars and Optimum may be lasting more than 3 months, but I've been putting...
  5. Ultra fine polish vs cleaner every 3 months before wax safe for clear coat?

May seem beat to death, but...I've read every post I can on this topic and wanted a few more opinions.

To start with, after my research on this forum, I've concluded that, unless I'm using an AIO,...

Re: Washing microfiber towels - revisited

Again I'm new at this but...

Why do I need so many towels for compounding? I used 2-3 towels for my entire car to wipe off the compound after applying it by hand with foam pad - what does that...

Re: Washing microfiber towels - revisited

Yup that is what I'm leaning towards.
    1. Paint - wash/dry/polish/wax
    2. Non paint - glass/interior

I figure if any towels get bad I can try pre-soaking in oxyclean or APC.

    Might still keep...

    Re: Greetings from East Carolina

Lived down here a few years - pirates fan yes, but more of a passive one, don't go the games and don't watch much TV either. I try to stay away from downtown after the games, crazy kids :awesome:

Re: Washing microfiber towels - revisited

I really would like to get comfortable with this line of thinking as I only detail my own car.

If I washed/detailed more frequently and had a ton of towels I'd probably just have 7 wash loads or...

Re: Washing microfiber towels - revisited

    Stains are a possibility.

I have been drying my weekly wash/dry with a fan in the spare bathroom prior to putting them in a bin waiting for the wash so they won't mildew.

    I'm using about 6-8...

    Washing microfiber towels - revisited

Common topic I know - but remains difficult to sort out for me, and I feel I've read every thread on the internet about this.

I have a new car I bought this spring and have an interest in keeping...

    Greetings from East Carolina

    Hello from Greenville NC

Have dabbled in using Nu-finish every few years on my cars - the extent of my interest as I never had a car to be proud of.

Purchased my first new car this spring -...
