    Rupes LHR75 vs 75E

Is there much of a difference between these two machines? Do they have similar power? I haven't been able to find any reviews of the LHR, or specs comparing their power. Air isn't a problem, I work...

    Re: Clay Pad causing Scratches!?!?!?!?!?!?

I have this happen all the time! I use nanoskin with a DA about 5 times a day. Every once in a while it will just destroy a black car. Its marring. I think it just picks up things and carries them...
  6. Re: One step recommendation for newer black Mercedes.

Thank you! Really appreciate that. I will definitely give that a try. I typically just used the flex, I have a rotary but I'm not very experienced with it. Every time I use it I make a mess and end...
  7. Re: One step recommendation for newer black Mercedes.

Thank you for the recommendations! Just ordered a lot of stuff and a rupes 21 big foot to see if it does any better, it seems like I see more positive reviews for it finishing out well with...
  8. Re: One step recommendation for newer black Mercedes.

Has anyone tried scholls concepts s3?
  9. Re: One step recommendation for newer black Mercedes.

Agreed! They also don't mind us doing side work as long as its not between 9-5 monday-friday with their shop/supplies. Definitely a cool place to work. I need to work on building up a few clients. :)
  10. Re: One step recommendation for newer black Mercedes.

I guess its worth noting I used the uber with an orange pad... I'll try it out Monday with a finishing pad!
  11. Re: One step recommendation for newer black Mercedes.

Has anyone tried the rupes system on a flex? I assume it would work. But I think I've also heard the rupes will finish better? Not sure. I haven't tried compounds with a finishing or polishing pad...
  12. Re: One step recommendation for newer black Mercedes.

I'm really just looking for a one step polish. If it happens to have a wax or sealant in it as well that's a plus, but the main goal is to find a one step compound/polish with enough cut that...
  13. One step recommendation for newer black Mercedes.

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me narrow down my selection before buying all of these products. I detail 2010-2014 Mercedes cars that are black one after another at a dealership. I'm...

    4 Inch backing plate

Hello, I bought what was advertised as a 4 inch backing plate from chemical guys. I received a 4 3/8 inch backing plate, which I already owned. I called chemical guys and they argued with me that...

    Re: Possible Job Change

I guess I'll be staying here. I am the helper though. The head detailer makes $1.50 "per hour" more than me. He's the one that cuts corners. He doesnt understand why you have to wash a car before you...

    Re: Possible Job Change

I have no idea what is reasonable on that side of the business. 26 an hour seems totally reasonable at a dealership. They'll pay 14-17 per hour you turn. Usually you can turn 2-3 hours for every hour...

    Possible Job Change

Hello, I've been working at a high end car dealership doing recon for a while now and I'm finally sick of working 80 hours a week and cutting every corner possible. I'm making 1500-2000 a week, but...
  20. Re: Quickest method of paint correction for production work.

This might be a dumb question, but is it bad to work a larger area such as an entire door or half a hood instead of sticking to a smaller area at a time?
  21. Re: Quickest method of paint correction for production work.

Ok some of you guys were right. This guy is the worst detailer I've ever seen in my life. He started out actually doing a decent job, trying to show off. Now he's just awful. Puts on spray wax as he...
  22. Re: Quickest method of paint correction for production work.

What about machine wet sanding the bad scratches finishing up with 5000 grit, then just running Wolfgangs Uber compound over the entire car with the Flex? I watched a video with Mike Phillips using...
  23. Re: Quickest method of paint correction for production work.

I know, we get paid to wash/clay all the new cars and some of them are trashed with 15 miles on them. But for the most part these cars aren't in bad shape. The worst ones are the ones that were...
  24. Re: Quickest method of paint correction for production work.

That was very helpful, thank you. Glad to hear someone knows there's a place for this kind of work and it's not hacking it. We do our best with the time we have. I know we aren't turning show quality...
  25. Re: Quickest method of paint correction for production work.

Most of these cars aren't that bad off, at all. Usually less than 30k miles. Maybe that's why he's able to get it done so fast? Not trying to insult anyone on here or what you do, I know you guys are...
