P.s. the pads I have been using are the lake country 5.5*7/8 beveled edge cutting yellow pad. I tried a Meg's maroon 5" cutting pad which the mt300 seems like like a bit more due to the less overhang.
Thanks Mike. Yea I've tried it a few ways (more product, less product), Meg's cutting pad vs the lake country pad. I seem to get the same effect. I spot tested an area using Meg's cutting product,...
Yea it is marine 31 heavy cut gel coat cleaner wax. I did one whole side and the front and got mixed results. I tested meguires ultra cut then a polish and it looks better so I'm thinking this may...
I think iay have figured it out. I was doing 4-5 passes of left to right up to down and they may be tppany for gel coat. I think it was rubbing the gunk back on. Moved to 2-3 passes of same technique...

Those pictures are after it was washed extensively and some sort of a liquid coating applied(the detailer called it). The claim was that my gel coat was too far gone to recover so they didn't want to...
Thank you both GKSR and Mike for all this wealth of knowledge. Mike, I didn't realize the pics weren't working, my apologies for this. I had read a few ways to do it. Here they are again below the...
I'm curious too as I cannot find any detailed guides on this, how to you identify if you need to sand or if a compound will suffice? I do have some shine (very little but there?). As I research...
I am trying to fully comprehend.. So is your recommendation to go with a 2000-2500 grit sandpaper then to do a compound such as Sonax? Or sand and then straight to some other sort of polish?
I'm curious, how often will I need to cut qnd polish? The gel coat being only so thin I am curious hiw often this will need done. With a good sealant and being under a roof I am hoping I won't need...
