This thread is my personal experience...

    Re: opti-coat on plastic (textured)

You certainly can. However, just keep in mind that there is a possibility of it turning whitish in spots. And then getting it off is near impossible. On black plastic, I would keep to something like...

Re: Question - opticoat after 2 Years

You can clay. Polishing will most likely remove the coating.

Re: Got a ticket need adivice

Each state will have a variety of rules that differ. Each state will also vary on how they handle violations of their statutes by vehicles registered in other states.

It is very possible to live...
  6. Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant - Dust Free? Pictures!

I just wanted to follow-up on this thread to confirm that the product does not last following a wash. So this is a use-after-every-wash kind of product. But with the limitations in mind, it can be...
  7. Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant - Dust Free? Pictures!

Well, the diamond wheel coating advertises that it "eliminates" brake dust buildup which opti-coat does not do. But I am guessing it simply makes it easier to clean only, similar to opti-coat.
  8. Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant - Dust Free? Pictures!

I saw that - Thanks. Based on some reviews it might keep things a little cleaner.

I wish someone had a follow-up review of Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Wheel Coating
  9. Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant - Dust Free? Pictures!

Ugh, I forgot I cannot edit my original post here!

Anyway, this will be my last set of pictures - I think the concept has been proven. I will update later though to confirm that the product is...
  10. Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant - Dust Free? Pictures!

I have no doubt. For the moment though, ceramic pads are not an option as there are none available yet for my model. Until then, this works pretty well keeping them at least cleaner looking between...
  11. Re: Armor All Wheel Protectant - Dust Free? Pictures!

New pads would certainly be a solution. However, Opti-Coat does very little in preventing dust - Actually, I don't think it does a thing in that regard. Easier to clean certainly but that is not my...
  12. Armor All Wheel Protectant - Dust Free? Pictures!

Ok, so I was at Advance Auto for another purpose and I always glance at the car care isle when visiting these places. I saw this stuff for $15 and thought I would give it a shot.

Re: Is This Clearcoat Failure On '13 Accord?

I don't believe so. As stated above, clean it first (although I would skip the clay for the moment). I would then try to hand polish using a fine polish in one section prior to taking it to the...

Re: Can an Exhaust be opti coated

You can, although I do not believe it serves much purpose. In my experience, it does not keep it clean any longer nor does it make cleaning any easier. So much so, I am not sure it wasn't burned...

Re: Rained on my newly tinted windows.

Since it has not been explicitly stated in this thread... In case you are unaware, the tint is applied to the inside of the glass so there is no way rain will harm it in any way.

    You shouldn't...

Re: Never Dull and Nu Finish

Nu Finish is not something I would personally use on 2-stage paint systems. It works great for me on single stage paint - Especially on white. Really cleans well and gives a nice shine with very...

Re: New car protection, clear bra? coating?

A coating will not prevent bug etching and rock chips (bug etching causes most of the permanent sandpaper feel you get in time). There is a 3M spray-on protectant film that has been reviewed here. ...
  18. Re: Pictures of BlackICE over Opti-Coat on a light colored car...

Well really, I wasn't expecting much - More hopeful for a minor improvement than anything. But it certainly taught me not to bother and taught me Opti-coat has a comparable finish to at least one...
  19. Re: Pictures of BlackICE over Opti-Coat on a light colored car...

Hey thanks. It is a Cayman S. They had a fairly significant body style change this year so for now it's not really easy to tell what it is at first glance.
  20. Re: Pictures of BlackICE over Opti-Coat on a light colored car...

I actually wasn't either until this particular redesign came out.

Thanks everyone. Too bad the BlackICE didn't actually work out - Maybe on my wifes car!
  21. Re: Pictures of BlackICE over Opti-Coat on a light colored car...

It is called Lime-Gold and became available 2013/2014. It is listed as a "Special Color."

It is different certainly. Another picture...

  23. Pictures of BlackICE over Opti-Coat on a light colored car...

So what happens when you put BlackFire BlackICE over Opti-Coat 2.0? Well, as it turns out - Nothing. I am not sure what I was expecting. Maybe a touch more depth? Maybe an ever so slight...

Ideas to remove Opti-Coat from plastic trim?

I used Opti-Coat 2.0 on several pieces of black hard plastic trim on my car. The car was new and I prepped properly. Mostly it worked perfectly well, but there are two spots that turned hazy white....
