300 miles.....just clean at this point, but planning to go spray some Beadmaker on it in the next day or two.
  2. Re: Constant battle against tar spots on doors.. sealants not working. any tips?

I haven't had any luck outside of full strength degreasers (slower) or tar remover.
  3. Re: How much dirt can build up in the winter months here in Sweden!

I have a similar story and post here for Alaska. Even with fresh wax I had to resort to washing the lower half of my vehicle with bug and tar remover. Even degreaser wasn’t cutting it well.

Thanks to our earthquake my garage is going to smell great!

I’ll post the link to my go-fund-me later. Just...
  7. Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

    Thanks for the replies.

My touchless is an automated wash bay.

My garage is heated and has a hose and I also have an electric pressure washer, but not wanting the water getting shot around on...
  8. Re: Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

Thanks - a citrus degreaser is a good idea and should be easier on the lungs. I like the brush idea, I am always hesitant to use brushes except around my emblems and I need to get over that.

  9. Re: Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

Right now it’s 20’s/30’s, but we’ve already been single digits. It’s greatly affected by weather patterns in the Gulf of Alaska.

They generally don’t use salt here, except to keep the ‘sand’ from...
  10. Re: Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

I did already try to get myself unstuck from this situation, putting together a cocktail of 1.5 oz ONR, 1.5 oz Degreaser, and 12 oz water. It was slick over the clean parts and dragged over the grime...
  11. Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

Thanks guys. I’m going to put a monthly reminder for myself to get new protection laid down while it’s winter. It was on the schedule for this weekend but definitely was too long in between,...
  12. Re: Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

The ONR wasn’t making any impact multiple passes with waterless concentration (doused) but the degreaser did a lot. I think my grime must be different. Might be something they put in the sand mix or...
  13. Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

I was using up Zaino over the spring and summer and then did a traditional wax approximately 3 months ago. Clayed ahead of that. I see where you’re going. :)

  14. Mix degreaser with waterless/rinseless to cut grime?

It is winter in Alaska, so outdoor washing is out. I've signed up for unlimited touchless and plan to keep doing rinseless/waterless at home every couple weeks. After a touchless wash yesterday, I...
  15. Re: How to fix/hide buffer burns on plastic trim?

If you run out of other ideas, you might try a heat gun on it (carefully). I’ve seen improvements on discolored trim from deformation this way.

  16. Re: Keeping Performance Brakes and Rotors Looking Great

Woolies, lug brush, and make sure you get a good wheel cleaner that is powder coat safe if the calipers are powder coated. I also use the lug brush, small sponge, and foam paint brush for the...

    Re: Black gloss trim troubles

I’m using the tri-color pack MF towels from AG. I picked up 1 spray bottle of Mother’s waterless just to try the whole waterless thing. The horizontal micro scratches are from washing I believe but...

    Black gloss trim troubles

    https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180616/a44831d6dd19eab5135c4503aec0a8a7.jpg

Only 6k miles on this Jeep Grand Cherokee, but the gloss black trim is nothing but troubles. I’ve done a mix of foam...

Re: The Post a Picture of Your Ride as it Sits Thread

Not noticeable from the pic, but with 6k miles only, the rockers and leading edge of the 1/4 panels have a fair bit of paint damage from road debris (sand/gravel used in snow/ice) from the winter...

Re: Fair price to charge to take wheels off?

I would think to err on the high side of that, especially if you’re hand torquing the wheels when they go back on. Also think of your liability in jacking the car.

Cabin air intake during engine detail

Can you liberally hose down the cabin air intake screens at the back of the engine compartment or will that introduce water into the vents that could mildew and smell later?

Re: Correcting a 'wheeled hard' Jeep

FWIW, Ceriglass on LC 5" Glass Cutting Discs didn't make any visual improvement and actually added some very fine scratches to the glass. I spent a lot of time trying to work one window and then...
