I have a similar story and post here for Alaska. Even with fresh wax I had to resort to washing the lower half of my vehicle with bug and tar remover. Even degreaser wasn’t cutting it well.
After applying traditional wax on Thanksgiving weekend and running through several touchless tunnel washes, I decided to give it another go in the garage.

Thanks - a citrus degreaser is a good idea and should be easier on the lungs. I like the brush idea, I am always hesitant to use brushes except around my emblems and I need to get over that.
I did already try to get myself unstuck from this situation, putting together a cocktail of 1.5 oz ONR, 1.5 oz Degreaser, and 12 oz water. It was slick over the clean parts and dragged over the grime...
Thanks guys. I’m going to put a monthly reminder for myself to get new protection laid down while it’s winter. It was on the schedule for this weekend but definitely was too long in between,...
The ONR wasn’t making any impact multiple passes with waterless concentration (doused) but the degreaser did a lot. I think my grime must be different. Might be something they put in the sand mix or...
I was using up Zaino over the spring and summer and then did a traditional wax approximately 3 months ago. Clayed ahead of that. I see where you’re going. :)
It is winter in Alaska, so outdoor washing is out. I've signed up for unlimited touchless and plan to keep doing rinseless/waterless at home every couple weeks. After a touchless wash yesterday, I...
Woolies, lug brush, and make sure you get a good wheel cleaner that is powder coat safe if the calipers are powder coated. I also use the lug brush, small sponge, and foam paint brush for the...
I’m using the tri-color pack MF towels from AG. I picked up 1 spray bottle of Mother’s waterless just to try the whole waterless thing. The horizontal micro scratches are from washing I believe but...
Not noticeable from the pic, but with 6k miles only, the rockers and leading edge of the 1/4 panels have a fair bit of paint damage from road debris (sand/gravel used in snow/ice) from the winter...
I would think to err on the high side of that, especially if you’re hand torquing the wheels when they go back on. Also think of your liability in jacking the car.
Can you liberally hose down the cabin air intake screens at the back of the engine compartment or will that introduce water into the vents that could mildew and smell later?
FWIW, Ceriglass on LC 5" Glass Cutting Discs didn't make any visual improvement and actually added some very fine scratches to the glass. I spent a lot of time trying to work one window and then...
