  1. Pad recommendations for light-medium oxidation with GG DA orbital buffer to pair with Marinee 31

I am going to be correcting my 2007 blue nautiques paint and there is some light oxidation covering most of the boat. I have a 6" Griots Garage dual action orbital buffer and plan on pairing it with...

Are Lake County pads the forum favorite for any compound/polish?
  4. Re: Sealant product recommendation: Looking for durability, longevity, hydrophobic properties, appearance, and ease of application

Thank you for the recommendations. Is there a specific topper wax that you prefer after using Sonax PNS?
  5. Re: Polish/Compound/AIO Recommendation: Good cutting ability, easy workability, easy wipe-off, good finishing

Is the way to determine if you need a compound vs a polish to start with a test spot with the least abrasive product first and see if that removes the defects from the paint? And if it doesn't, move...
  6. Polish/Compound/AIO Recommendation: Good cutting ability, easy workability, easy wipe-off, good finishing

I've got some M105 and M205 sitting in my garage from years ago but I want to give something else a try. M205 was great but I always found M105 on the difficult side to work with. It was difficult to...
  7. Sealant product recommendation: Looking for durability, longevity, hydrophobic properties, appearance, and ease of application

It has been awhile since I purchased a sealant. The last one that I purchased was Blackfire Wet Diamond which I thought worked fairly well but I'm out of it now.

I've read a lot of good things...
  8. Economical and effective wheel/tire cleaner product recommendation?

I've been using Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner and it works very well. My only gripe with it is the price. Are there other products out there that work as well or better but are a little friendlier...

Prefer to use soap or quick detailer for claying?

I recently watched this detailing video from Chicago Auto Pros (YouTube) and rather than using quick detailer or clay bar lube when claying, they just used a foam cannon with car wash soap. Does...

Re: Optimum Opti-Bond still a relevant tire dressing?

I've always applied it straight with a foam applicator. I know that some prefer the 1:1 product:water dilution and to use an airgun though.

    Re: 2015 Audi S4 paint hardness/thickness?

I'm not sure that I need to compound it, haven't examined it that closely just yet. I have a Griots DA orbital and M105/M205 in my inventory. Pads all need to be replaced. I'm thinking about grabbing...

Optimum Opti-Bond still a relevant tire dressing?

5+ years ago when I was detailing more regularly, Optimum Opti-Bond was a crowd favorite for durable, easy to apply tire dressings. Things have really changed this past couple of years with the...

    2015 Audi S4 paint hardness/thickness?

I'm evaluating compound/polish/pad options for a 2015 Audi S4 and was wondering what to expect in terms of paint hardness and thickness? I've read conflicting information.

    Thanks in advance for...

Re: How to use Poorboy's Blackhole corrrectly?

Is doing anything more than 2 passes really necessary at all since you're not correcting anything but just want to ensure even coverage?

Re: How to use Poorboy's Blackhole corrrectly?

So it's safe to do the entire vehicle with PoorBoys blackhole and once finished begin wiping it off? We don't have to work in small 2'x2' areas?

How to use Poorboy's Blackhole corrrectly?

The instructions are very vague and just describe applying it with a machine polisher and letting it dry to a haze and then buffing it off.

Is there anything more to it? As I understand, this is...

Re: My Advice for Drying a Car

Just depends on the hardness of the clearcoat. I would feel comfortable doing the drag method with a clearcoat that has a sealant on it such as Blackfire Wet Diamond or Optiseal.

Re: My Advice for Drying a Car

You should be able to dry a properly corrected surface by just using a stream of water from a hose. 75-85% of the water will be displaced from the vehicle if you use the hose sheeting method on a...

Re: Best "filler" product/wax (temporary improvement)

    Haha love the emoticon.

I have some NXT actually. I just was never real impressed with it. I'm just going to go the Poorboys Black Hole + Natty Blue Wax route.

Re: Best "filler" product/wax (temporary improvement)

Yes, which is why I don't care about the longevity so much. This is a production scenario where I want to put the least amount of effort/time forth necessary and have the cars paint look the best it...

Re: Best "filler" product/wax (temporary improvement)
