How long are you keeping the car, you can polish every year or 2 if you keep it 10 years or less.
you should clay,polish,wax if you have the time, new cars can still have a lot of bonded containments
Are you able to wash at home? A normal two bucket wash with good wash mitts should do it, a foam gun or cannon would help, but I wouldn't go buy one just for this. You could also clay it.
Good that you are going to practice first, it is really easy to burn through the paint.
