What products are you going to be using? I'll be interested to see how the test spot goes... I don't want to give away a future Chronicles post but the process I ended up with was quite a bit...

Why don't I live closer, I could've brought the Pearl and we could've done 2 at once.

At least I'll get to see how my paint is supposed to look.
  3. Re: Chronicles of An Amateur Detailer: Suck It Up! - Carpets & Upholstery

I used two different diluted products in this write up.

I used CG Lightning Fast at 20:1, which is 20 parts water to one part cleaning concentrate. This was my first time using this product so I...

I currently use Meguiar's Ultimate Black on trim and Blackfire Total Eclipse Gel on tires and love the look. If you're looking for...

Re: New to Detailing...a little advice

I highlighted in bold the best part of a long post of good advice. Do a test spot. Start with the least aggressive method and work your way up until you find something that works. You may find that...

To those that have enjoyed the series thus far I want to thank you for the replies, suggestions, and kind words. The project will be slowed for the next few weeks as last night my wife and I were...

There's a myth that has been carried on the Internet that the use of Armor All had caused cracking on the dash of some older cars. I believe that was confirmed to be false.

    The other reason is...

Thanks! I know that vacuuming and cleaning the interior isn't as much fun to most people as polishing paint so I'm trying to keep it light hearted.

I do have a confession to make. The bold face...

Thanks for the tip. Hadn't thought of it before. I'm lucky on this car since the battery is in the trunk, but I'll keep that in mind for my other vehicles and anytime I do this in the future.

    Re: Chemical Guys Lightning Fast

Yeah I couldn't believe it either. I had to double check both AG and CG's websites to convince myself before using it.

I am actually planning on removing them. It will make it easier for photographing the work and I am going to need the access to the wheel wells. I probably should've made that clearer...

  15. Re: Chronicles of An Amateur Detailer: Suck It Up! - Carpets & Upholstery

    Quick update:

I rechecked the spot cleaned parts this morning. The floor mats look great but the spots did not come out of the drivers seat. I diluted the mixture at 20:1 per what the bottle said...

  19. Re: COAAD: What Lies Beneath...

I did forget the door jambs, thanks for the reminder. I'll probably hit them with a WW tonight. My wheel wells are pretty bad, there's tar of some kind stuck to the plastic liner that I need to get...

    Re: Orange Peel

I think you're making the smart decision to just live with it. I have it on my Challenger, and it's true that it doesn't stand out until you polish everything else to a high shine. 95% of people...
  22. Re: COAAD: What Lies Beneath...

One last thing, HUGE thanks to my wife for doing the camera work for this. The majority of the pictures are hers:xyxthumbs:
  24. Re: COAAD: What Lies Beneath...

Mods, if possible could you do me a favor, I finished this post after midnight and was apparently tired enough to miss a few errors even though I proof read twice and I'm obviously past my edit...
