Re: Griot's Garage 6 Gen 2 DA accident

I too have a Gen 2 GG DA and got a bit concerned when I saw this thread. Took mine apart but could see no visible sign of impending failure, however I did write GG expressing my concern and got a...
  2. Re: Is It OK To Use A DA Machine For Klasse HGSG Application?

Thanks for the replies. Though easier to apply by machine, it's still as hard to get off if applied too thick using either method. I hadn't heard about applying 3 coats. I usually do one, and top it...
  3. Is It OK To Use A DA Machine For Klasse HGSG Application?

I bought some Klasse HGSG for my truck (sits out 24/7) and initially applied a coat using my 6" Griot's DA with a red pad at speed 2. After reading numerous Klass HGSG threads, it seems as though I...

Re: No Rinse Waterless Wash Advice

Very comprehensive answers guys - thank you.

I like SR99's method and have most of that stuff already.

@Bunky, I have a bunch of Optimum Tire Gel so I'll likely use SR99's wheel/tire clean...

Re: No Rinse Waterless Wash Advice

Maybe a pressure sprayer would work? I have a large one (4 gal.), the kind landscapers use for weed killer. It's clean, might work?

Re: No Rinse Waterless Wash Advice

Yes, I will be cleaning wheels. The truck has factory rims, the Matrix has aftermarket aluminum alloy spoked rims that seem to collect a lot of brake dust.

Thanks for the Waffle weave drying towel...

Re: No Rinse Waterless Wash Advice

Wow! You guys are great! Thank you all for the replies - no place like Autogeek for professional advice.

Yes, I didn't make the distinction between rinseless and waterless as Evan.J pointed out....

My vehicles, F-150 w/ camper shell and Toyota Matrix, live outside 24/7. I want to start using a waterless, no rinse wash system and need advice regarding the optimal product(s) to use. I...

    Re: Considering A Car Cover

Finally got around to getting a photo of the completed truck shelter, 10'x16', all metal, all made right here in the USA, 20 year warranty. At 650 lbs. it ain't going anywhere, especially with 10...

    Re: What's in Collinite 845?

Whatever's in it seems to bring out the "warmth" in both grey and silver paints. I put a coat of 845 over DP Poli-Coat and the finish just got better. The silver paint was on a 2004 Matrix that...

    UPDATE:

After a lengthy delay, much thought and research online, I ended up purchasing an all metal canopy from Versatube. I needed a special size to fit the available driveway space without...

    Side Window Sun Protection

Summer's rapidly approaching and I'm looking for a good solution to protecting the vehicle interior from the sun. I have a 2012 Ford F-150 with a shell, already have a good windshield sun block, but...

    Re: Considering A Car Cover

I think I'm going to go without a cover. Custom fit, although a great idea, is too much dinero for me. Likely I'll put up a metal tubing canopy with a durable cover material. Just have to figure out...

    Re: Considering A Car Cover

What you said make perfect sense. I do live in a dusty area (livestock nearby) and being on the side of a hill we often get some pretty strong winds.

We live in a typical tract home with a 20 ft....

    Considering A Car Cover

My new F-150 with a cab-high Snugtop lives outside and sits a good deal of the time. I'm retired, don't drive it very often, and am looking to protect it as much as is practical. Considering a car...

    Re: Respect For The Effort

    Respect For The Effort

Re: Light Clean Between Poli-Coat and Collinite

No, it won't be driven. Reason I asked about the Speed Shine is being worried it might compromise the wax layer bond. I'll be doing all the work using a new GG 6" DA. Used it on my wife's Matrix and...

New Ford F-150 with a cab-high Snugtop bought in early January, lives outside. I'm planning on a wash, clay, light polish, DP Poli-Coat, and Collinite 845 to top it off. I can't garage the truck and...
