Try steel wool, like an SOS pad. ( caution this is only for extreme cases to restore a dull and scaled aluminum wheel) I use it on billet motorcycle stuff all the time. You will get the shine back...

The truck had been hacked in the past with a rotory so the paint was thin in a lot of spots. Thats why i didn't try to remove all the marks just to improve it the best it can be.

Good call on the PVC ones i did the same thing and got the other ones. I went back and got the PVC bottles after that.
