I have these wind deflectors you speak of on another car and if there the kind that allow you to crank the window down a crack without getting lots of turbulence then no they really don't interfere...
I have been using Liquid Glass Polish successfully for over 20 years now. It gets rid of the scratches n swirls. It is the gold can with the pink corvete on it priced around $19.00 at a high end...
I might consider that PC 7434? anyway it is the polishing machine now how easy is it to mess up your car with it for those of us that don't have any experience using machines and have been doing...

More importantly it is the paint preparation that makes the difference. Claybar paint then pick your favorite product. I have used Menzerna Products, Zaino, Klasse AIO, and Liquid Glass Polish...
I have used it once and it has been on for a week now. Seems to be fine but I haven't accumulated alot of brake dust yet but it sure does smell good.:D
