    Re: New Car Protection

At the minimum, I would clay the paint surface with a fine grade clay before applying any protection. Put your hand in a plastic sandwich bag, like you would a glove, and run it over the paint in...

Re: Have you ever messed up a customers car?

I didn't really "mess up" a car, but I did plant a big ol' nasty muddy shoe print right in the middle of a floor I was cleaning.
  6. Re: Anyone else OCD when it comes to Labeling ?

The stuff is kinda hard to find, but its Avery 15516. It comes in 5.5 X 8.5 sheets... but once its stuck... ITS STUCK. Just make sure to choose the correct medium... the 15516 is for laser...
  7. Re: Anyone else OCD when it comes to Labeling ?

I do the same, except I use a water proof label that will not smear or run. They're almost a mylar type material.

    Re: This is crazy stuff.....

It makes NO sense to me why there are a few "Hold-out" states that will not issue a concealed pistol permit. I won't get in to the whole 2nd amendment issue, but whoa!

    Re: This is crazy stuff.....

Hey, I was doing a RARE on-site detail job for a friend in Warren MI. I was leaning in the car, extracting the carpets and when I looked up, there was a complete stranger standing over me. I got...

I use APC+ dilluted 10:1, and a nylon fingernail type brush.
  11. Re: Buying the 7424xp as my first real detailing tool!

Go for it! I just got my XP, I use it exclusively with 5.5" & 4" Hydro-Tech pads, 105, 205 and PO85RD. I have found myself needing NOTHING else. The XP handles 99% of everything I've thrown at it....

    Crimson Hydro-Tech Pads...

I know they're relatively new, but does anyone know if the crimson pad would be effective for applying a finishing polish, like 85RD?
  13. Re: What product should I get to do this faster?

Ummm... It looks like the clear is compromised in a few spots on those rims, especially around the center cap. Wheel Brightener or any acidic cleaner of the sort COULD potentially cause a bigger...

    "Fixing" previous touch-up attempts...

I just picked up a 2008 GMC Canyon with only 20,000 miles on the clock for a SWEET deal. It's black and was obviously a cable installer truck as the interior is LOADED with coax wire fragments. ...

Re: What to do to a brand new car ?

I know it sounds like a silly question, but is it being shipped from Japan...? I had a Scion xB that was actually shipped from Japan, I told the dealer NOT to prep it, and when I took delivery, the...

    Re: Hydro-Tech Pads...

Yes, it does appear that way. However, I am quite certain I did not. I have killed foam pads before by hitting body gaps, over-the-rail bed liners, and such. This was not the case. :xyxthumbs:
