If the paint feel "grabby", it most likely needs to be clayed. The wax haze could be from using too much product. I recommend spraying the towel instead of the paint.

Why not permanant? I have OC 2.0 on my truck and it looks great. It's also really easy to keep clean and drying is effortless after flooding the paint.
I've only used Max Wax and it looks really good, with proper prep. Prep is the key with any wax or sealant so it's really up to you. Do you plan to polish or have you already polished your car?
